Great place! Great food! I love to come over every now & then.
I always have a good time whenever I go there & hear live music.
Better tequila options might be nice, but I know it´s not the vibe of the place (Maestro Dobel it´s good not overpriced Patron).
I wish I had a chance to choose my table in order to not have a big column covering the stage
I love live music. I heard Louis Hayes last night. It was a magnificent auditory experience.
We've been to Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill around fifteen times over the years, & it remains one of our favorite spots in Montreal for live music. The atmosphere is always inviting, intimate, warm, & with that unmistakable charm that makes jazz feel alive & close. The lineup is consistently strong, from local talents to seasoned performers, & the sound quality in the room is fantastic.
The beer is good but the selection is not solid, same for food is good, though I'd love to see the menu refreshed from time to time (perhaps every couple of years) just to keep things interesting. The current dishes are well-prepared, but the variety could be a bit broader. Still, the overall experience more than makes up for it: good service, great music, & a cozy setting that never loses its appeal.
Unforgettable evening. Live music, Annika Chambers & Paul Deslauriers were awesome.
UPSTAIRS Jazz Montreal is a new favorite place for me & my wife.
Caught an unforgettable Jazz & Blues set in Montreal featuring the powerhouse vocals of Dawn Tyler Watson, backed by an exceptional trio: John Sadowy on piano, Clinton Ryder on bass, & Al Bourgeois on drums. Dawn lit up the stage with her soulful voice & magnetic presence-equal parts singer & storyteller. John's piano work was fluid & expressive, Clinton laid down rich, resonant bass lines, & Al's drumming brought the perfect rhythm & drive. The chemistry among the musicians was palpable, making for a truly immersive evening. If you're in Montreal & craving live music that moves you, this is a must.
Lagavulin 8 year enhanced the evening!
My husband & I enjoyed our time at this establishment. Amazing live jazz music in a small & cozy atmosphere. Our server was very attentive & friendly. Highly
recommend!
The bread was cold & hard & didn't come with each plate that was advertised on the menu. Food was good though. Atmosphere was great live music!
Amazing place - great food, great service & live music cant ask for better! Thank you will be back again!
We had a great time there having a dinner & listening to the live music by young jazz lovers.
Good food, good service & good live music! This is a Montreal Hallmark!
Just the touch of jazz needed! Convenient location ... friendly staff & patrons ... love the live music!
Cozy restaurant with live music. Fish tacos was small portion for my companion. Snapper was nice, with potatoes & vegetables with a good portion. We were only able to book at bar this evening. Bartender was pleasant & good service. Music was excellent!
We enjoyed the food here more than we expected, figuring it would be more about the music. Our party enjoyed the nachos with guacamole, as well as these entrees: pasta di Verona, salmon, & poulet Georgia. We ordered cocktails, which were average (not bad, not great). The live music was great, but quite loud since this is a small enjoyment. Fun feature: the menus are in album covers.
Absolutely iconic, must visit when in a Montreal! Great atmosphere, live music & so much talent
Can't speak to the food, only came for wine & live music during jazz festival... Loved the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff & great music... Had to ait outside bc I didn't have a reservation, but so thankful they even made room for me. I was able to hear the music & appreciate the evening all the same!
Awesome spot for live jazz, the musicians playing when we were there were just incredible. They have various shows every week. The food was mid, but to be fair you don't really go here for the food. Still pretty good. Our waitress was super nice 😊 Show costs 15$ on top of your meal, but the food is reasonably priced.
An old place with a nice atmosphere, good service & excellent live music. Try'Upstairs julep"!
