Came here back in November 2023. The food was pretty good. We ordered some oysters, beef tartare, foie torchon, a roasted duck breast, & this godly braised leek with smoked swordfish & caviar dish. I was looking at the recent reviews & it seems they rotated that dish out. Such a shame. Everything was pretty mid, but that one leek dish made this a full-on 5 star experience.
Had a great evening at Tuck Shop. Food & service was too notch. Lots of options for seating, super nice & quiet back terrace. All the dishes we tried were delicious!

spent my birthday & tuck shop & i WISH i remembered our waitresses name. she was so attentive & took some great pictures of our party to help us commemorate the celebration. entire staff was incredibly attentive- clearing silverware & plates between courses, refilling water, attending to our every want or need. couldn't have asked for better service!! the food was DYNAMITE!! 🧨🔥 the oysters were from new brunswick & tasted so fresh, served with shredded horseradish, a lovely sweet onion sauce, lemon, cocktail & hot sauce. we tried the mushroom toast which had chanterelles, lobster mushroom & it looked like some tiny button mushrooms. perfect umami flavor! the market salad was light & refreshing. all were easily split amongst our party. i tried the chicken ballotine for my main & it was divine! it was presented beautifully as medallions- the outside skin was crispy while the inside was tender & juicy. perfectly complemented by the pomme puree, mushrooms, legumes & other vege. the other mains in our party were so good, every plate went back completely clean! i had a refreshing moscow mule & also the chocolate plum sundae for dessert. it was rich but heavenly- perfect to share so everyone can try a few bites. we will definitely be back! this place is a gem. thank you to all staff at tuck shop for making my birthday so special. cheers!
I was visiting the city with some friends & found some recs for Tuck Shop on Reddit. The service is exceptional, the food is something to return for, & the space has a stylish atmosphere. We shared some oysters, I had the grilled swordfish & my friends both had the Hanger steak with fries. For dessert we had the plum sundae, ice cream sandwich & olive oil cake. All were amazing including drinks. They have an extensive wine list. All in all we really enjoyed the whole experience & would reccomend. Additionally we're staying downtown & this charming neighborhood of 2 & 3 story old brick buildings was a welcome change. Bravo Tuck Shop 👏👏👏
Amazing place to go out for a romantic dinner or just casual dinner out with friends. They alway have a season menu. Eg. in summer they have snow crab which is delicious with some other fish dishes. In winter they have an amazing duck. Totally recommend!
we went there on our wedding anniversary, & had the joy of sitting on the terrasse, during a torrential downpour, which we absolutely loved because we were very well protected. The meal was fantastic, really enjoyed it, the service was also great, We will most certainly be back for a second visit!
From start to finish, you're in for a beautiful dining experience at Tuck Shop. The service is personable & friendly, without being overbearing, but provided by affable hosts who know how to make you feel relaxed & welcome. The food is creative, but there are also classics that have been mastered. The zucchini blossoms are a true highlight, as is the agnolotti - but because the menu changes so often it's pointless to give recommendations on menu items! All I can say is trust the recommendations from your server & rest assured that you're in for a treat of fresh produce & beautifully cooked meats & fish, whatever you order. Merci Tuck Shop!

J'ai eu le plaisir de souper au restaurant Tuck Shop hier, & ce fut une expérience exceptionnelle du début à la fin. J'ai commandé les chanterelles du Québec de Theo, les fleurs de courgettes de Birri Farms, les agnolottis de maïs du Québec, ainsi que les tartes aux pêches, accompagnés d'une Margarita & de bières. Chaque plat était une véritable oeuvre d'art : non seulement les saveurs étaient incroyables, mais la présentation était également d'une beauté saisissante. La fraîcheur des ingrédients se faisait sentir à chaque bouchée, rehaussant les saveurs à un niveau supérieur. Tuck Shop a véritablement maîtrisé l'art de l'excellence culinaire & de la présentation visuelle. Je recommande vivement ce restaurant à quiconque recherche une expérience gastronomique mémorable.
Unfortunately underwhelming meal. Although the food was good, the taste & creativity of the dishes were far below expectations, hence they could not rise up to the posted prices. We opted out of dessert to limit the disappointment. My experience from a few years ago was 5 stars, as the food was fantastic & we left on a full & happy stomach. Truly hoping this local spot can get back to that level.
Let me start with the service - outstanding. Really one of the best experiences I've had. Our waiter was super kind, patient, professional & made us feel very welcome. The food is really good. In my opinion it is not "fine dining" but nonetheless excellent! The pasta was a very nice dish, well balanced, creative & nicely plated. The fish was good. Basic. Desserts are good. Overall good experience.

Firstly I am not a person who usually posts reviews -basically if I don't feel it's worth a second visit -then I don't go back-but for TuckShop feel I need to -this is a place my wife has been wanting to go for some time now & finally she got a reservation. The staff experienced & well trained But -talk about overpriced....I have no issues paying for food as long as we get what we pay for-I had the lamp for $56 -well if you remove all the fluff fluff from the plate -there was no more than 3ounces of actual lamp. Wife had hungar steak for another $57 -with fries -honestly give a Ribsteak for a little more everyday of the week. Summary-alot of expectations after waiting for months -absolutely not worth the wait . Like I said -I don't mind paying $200 per couple but here you do not get what you pay for . Just to finish -as I & my buddy walked in after dropping off the ladies -an attendee just asked if we are looking for the 2 ladies at which point he said "you guys must be in the doghouse cause you are going to pay plenty for the meal"unquote. Montreal is full of restaurants -choice another. Sorry
As always, the food is very good. However, I did find it very pricey. I know the products are local & very fresh, but TS isn't the only trendy restaurant with fresh ingredients, but they are a lot more $$$. We go out to dinner for an experience, for a night out, etc., so I don't mind spending if there is value there. What made me the most disappointed is how quickly our table was turned around. (This is where the 3* for service comes from - our server was very pleasant & knowledgeable so I don't want to take anything away from that). We had three courses served within 1h20mins max. We weren't even seated for 1.5 hrs! While I understand there is a system, when I'm spending $100+ on a meal for one person, I expect to actually be able to enjoy my meal. Our reservation was at 7pm & we literally were walking out of the restaurant by 8:15-8:20pm. I've been to TS several other times & never had this experience so I hope it was a one off, but I can't say I'll be back anytime soon because I certainly didn't get the experience or night out I was hoping for.
Very good our waiter was nice & atmosphere was beautiful & the service was extremely quick. You can wait 15 minutes & get your hanger steak.The atmosphere was also very nice.
Ok... you are looking for good & tasty food ? With nice staff ? With real homemade cook ? So please try Tuck shop... probably now one my favorite place in Montreal.
We were Invited to Celebrate my husband's birthday by a good friend. First time at Tuck Shop & it amazed me very much. Food are very delicious, staff are kind, the decor are very nice. Highly recommend.
