We had an outstanding dinner at Tuck Shop & would happily return.

We had an 8:30 reservation & took a cab from our hotel rather than deal with parking in the busy neighbourhood, which worked out very well. From the moment we arrived, what really distinguished Tuck Shop was the service. I honestly don't remember ever experiencing more attentive service in a restaurant.

We were ordering wine by the glass, & almost as soon as we finished a glass, someone was there to ask if we would like another. That may sound like a small thing, but anyone who has spent half a meal trying to flag down a server for another glass of wine will appreciate just how good the service was.

Our waitress, Marie-Camille, was exceptional - extremely friendly, attentive & competent. She is exactly what you hope for in a great restaurant server.

The menu is fairly limited, particularly when it comes to the number of main courses, but the food we had was excellent. My wife is Portuguese & knows her fish, & she said the swordfish was the best she had ever eaten. My beef dish was also very good.

There was one very minor hiccup when my wife's wine glass was cleared before she had quite finished it. When she mentioned it, they immediately offered to replace the wine. We declined, but the way the staff handled it actually added to the evening. She later had a complimentary Grand Marnier, & the gentleman who had cleared the glass offered to join us for a complimentary shot. It was that kind of place - professional, but also genuinely warm & friendly.

The service continued right to the end. When we were leaving, we needed a cab back to our hotel. Thomas took care of it & actually stayed outside on the street with us until we were able to get one.

Tuck Shop is busy & consequently a little noisy, & the menu isn't extensive, but neither detracted much from what was an outstanding evening. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, & the service was truly exceptional.

Everything about this meal was perfect. We really love every bite. The service was really excellent & the staff seemed very knowledgeable. They seemed to really care how you felt about the food & that feels really good. The surprising stand out for us was the lemon tart - honestly probably my new favourite dessert. Would highly recommend!

This was my second time dining at Tuck Shop, & once again they did not disappoint! The food quality is outstanding..everything tasted fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about the ingredients & every detail that goes into each dish.
The service was just as impressive. The staff was warm, attentive, & made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in.
Even my 7-year-old son absolutely loved his meal & the staff, which says a lot about their good vibes! It's not always easy finding a restaurant that both adults & kids genuinely enjoy, but Tuck Shop delivered.
Definitely one of those places I'll keep coming back to. Highly recommend! 👏🏾🍽?

Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was attentive without being overbearing & the food arrived promptly despite the place being quite busy on a Friday night. You can tell they pay attention to the details here, from the presentation of the dishes to the background music selection. It is a fantastic neighborhood staple that feels like a hidden gem. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a reliable & high quality dining experience. It is easily one of my favorite local spots.

A great culinary experience! Our waiter was super fun & made this experience even better. We were in the backroom & it allows you to have a more intimate & cozy meal. The food was amazing & every dish was made to perfection. The portions were perfect. Highly recommend the chocolate espresso cake for dessert! It finishes the meal perfectly. Will be back!

My husband & I had an absolutely delicious meal at Tuck Shop. We sat at the Chef's Table, which is always a fun experience for a restaurant to offer (I love an open kitchen). Gabriel, our server, was very attentive - as was the bartender & the rest of the staff. The food was incredible, & all was plated SO beautifully - Michelin star level plating. We started with oysters, & loved their specialty hot sauce that they had on the side. We then split the grilled octopus (which was so tender & not at all chewy like you sometimes get), the pork belly (which came in the most incredible sauce), the Duck Duo (yum!), & the Chocolate Nemesis dessert - which was the only thing I managed to take a picture of. We left with very happy stomachs. Highly recommend!
