Everything was good, but oysters were prob the star of the show for me. The oysters tgemselves so fresh & tasty, the vinegar w pepper, the HOUSEMADE HOT SAUCE 🤯best i ever had i cannot believe they dont sell it.
Great service, full restuarant but water was always filled.
The duck was very good & i would recommend it for a main for sure!
Volume is prettyvloud at peak hours but manageable, maybe not the best for a first date spot in that regard.
So so good
Dommage!
Steak was melt in your mouth. Sauce au poivre not too overpowering & just enough flavour, & the fries wowowowowow - more please. Enjoyed the fried mushrooms, really liked the scallop crudo, & mussel toast was nice. Finished with the coconut cream pie; even though I didn't want to eat more, I finished the whole thing & couldn't breathe on the way home from my gluttonous behavior. Service was excellent & very personable. Lovely night. Thank you.
I went to celebrate my Bday & I was really looking forward to try the duck, but the waiter told me they change menu every other week. I order the chicken which was really good instead. The fried mushrooms were sooooo good but I guess everything that's fry it's better. We were a little bit disappointed of the fish. The taste was not there, the beurre blanc sauce was tasteless not good at all, also we ordered the scallops as an entry & same flavor was tasteless. I guess seafood are not their forte, surprisingly because the sauce of the chicken was amazing. Dessert was ok nothing wow but the espresso martini was really good 😊
Tuck Shop feels less like a restaurant & more like being welcomed into someone's warm, modern kitchen. The whole staff radiates ease & hospitality, from the kitchen to the bar where Laurence guided us with charm & precision-she was attentive, informed, & genuinely kind.
Oysters with house-made hot sauce & a pristine scallop crudo opened the meal perfectly. Then came fried mushrooms & roasted turnips-an umami revelation dusted with nori & kissed with kombu sauce & tartness from green apple. Turning a turnip into a showstopper takes serious talent.
The poule ballotine was deeply flavored, the onglet de boeuf precise & bright with chimichurri. Desserts-a coconut cream pie & a chocolate-coriander pairing-sealed the evening with quiet brilliance.
Refined, intimate, & confident, Tuck Shop is what every neighborhood restaurant should aspire to be.
The food is very good. The service was as well. We had almost everything on the menu. The tuna in the picture was amazing. So were the sauces. The portions are always small for the price at these places but that's my opinion.
Amazing food with really great service! Portions were really good & the prices were very reasonable. All the ingredients tasted fresh & the sauces were really great!
Fresh local ingredients presented with a delightful twist by the chef. Always seasonal & fresh. The local fried mushrooms with ranch sauce were excellent as was the Gaspe tuna as appetizers. Fish & steak for mains were prepared perfectly.
