Young Aaron (but spelled differently, he wouldn't explain lol) was a great host in a bustling vibe of a great spot. Open windows out onto the cobble stone street & the world walking by was a wonderful way to dip our toes into the Old Montreal scene. We didn't realize until later that there were other Tommy Cafe's in town, but it didn't matter, this one felt like it was part of the history right there!
Everyone but me started with an iced Chai latte & they raved about them. I (being after lunch) started with their spicy bloody ceasar yum. I had the aurora bagel I think it was called, salmon on a perfect bed of cream cheese & an awesome Montreal bagel! My friend had the chicken & avo sandwich which he said was fresh & perfect & my kid swapped with me for half an avo sandwich. Every bite was delish. Walk the strip, then come back for a beer & bite in this fun little shop.
Love visiting this cafe whenever I'm Montreal. It's a funky, friendly, cool vibe place with great coffee & food options. I had the breakfast croissant & latte that were so good. There's a loft seating area & tiered levels that makes it unique.
Staff were really nice & accommodating despite managing the place with our 15 month old daughter. Can be a little tricky with a stroller but doable. Food & coffee were superb. Space is really cool.
Tommy Café in Montreal has a great atmosphere & is in a fantastic location. I tried both the matcha latte & a regular latte. The regular latte was good, while the matcha latte could have been a bit better. Overall, the place is beautiful, the vibes are nice, & the staff were friendly & welcoming. A great spot to relax & enjoy a coffee.
When paying the bill the gentleman saw I wasn't leaving a tip & he began giving me a speech about how they earn below the minimum wage & depend on our tips. That was very uncomfortable. & it's up to me if I want to leave or not. Everything else was perfect, but because of that it ruined the experience.
Tommy Café is one of the most aesthetic & cozy cafés in Montreal. The design is stunning-white marble, greenery, & natural light that makes it feel calm yet upscale. It's perfect for brunch, coffee dates, or getting work done in a beautiful setting. The coffee is consistently good, & the pastries are fresh & well-made. It can get busy, so seating isn't always easy, but the vibe & atmosphere make it worth the wait.
Really impressive inviting & warm modern decor for a cafe, with funky staggered layered seating that works. I also found the corner stair entrance in a Victorian building charming architecture. I don't usually comment much on decor, but for a cafe atmosphere this location is stand-out.
The almond pastry & beef sandwich with side salad were high quality & fresh, as well as a fresh iced mango drink & iced latte. My only nitpick is that I wish they gave nicer cups for the iced drinks. Overall, a memorable cafe & excellent choice.
Window seats, delicious Lox Toast & Co 5+ (& very easy to share) & a Flora Tommy Fizz (Hibiscus, berries, elderflower, chamomile tea, soda & fresh lavender & rose petals). This is a morning must in Old Montreal.
