Went to the Rec Room Royalmount today with a group of colleagues for dinner & paint nite hosted afterwards. The apps stand out more in flavor & quality than the mains. A must have app would be the Gruyère & onion cheese dip with pita. The calamari, fries & corn which were the others we tried we okay, but not as flavorful as the cheese dip. We had a variety of mains too, burgers, steaks, pastas, salads & bowls & they were all just alright. Maybe a 3/5. None of the mains were a wow but they weren't bad, just average. Pasta was a little too Al dente for our taste, steak overcooked & general flavors average. The stand out dish was the cheese dip, we ordered 2 rounds. Then wrapping up with desserts, they weren't bad but the stand out was the molten chocolate cake with ice cream, absolutely delicious. Attaching photos of dishes in case you like visuals! In terms of service, we frequently had to chase down wait staff & that was unpleasant. It would be nice if they were more attentive to guests, checking in periodically. I'd be back for the shareable apps & dessert, but I'd skip mains.
Great food, affordable prices, cool atmosphere - but HORRIBLE service.
My boyfriend, another couple, & I came for a double date to take advantage of the summer promotion, which included a main course, dessert, & $15 in arcade credits.
The food was great, & everything started off well. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill when it came time to pay & receive our gaming credits.
After everyone paid, I handed the waitress my existing game bracelet so she could load my boyfriend & I's credits onto it. We waited at our table for about 10 minutes, but she never came back. We eventually went inside to see what was happening. She told us the manager was in a meeting & asked us to wait a few more minutes, even though several other staff members & what appeared to be other managers were available.
When the manager finally arrived, it took another 10 minutes just to figure out how to load the gaming credits onto our bracelets. By the time we received them, we had already spent around 20 minutes waiting.
After we finally started playing in the arcade, the manager came running around looking for me. She told me the waitress was new & had charged me incorrectly. We had to stop what we were doing & return to the restaurant while they reviewed the receipts. After another wait, she told me I actually owed $2 because I had used my existing bracelet.
This made no sense, as the promotion states that the gaming credits can be loaded onto an existing bracelet. If you don't have one, a new bracelet only costs $3. I still don't understand why I was being charged an extra $2.
The food & prices were excellent, but the lack of training, poor communication, & the amount of time wasted dealing with something that should have taken a minute completely took away from the experience.
Service very very slow!!! We ordered a 12 chicken wings & it came with only 11! Please DO NOT order buffalo chicken wings! Terrible!!! We ordered after 30 minutes & the bills take ages to get! Even worse, the waiter is serving others when I literally ask for the check & he says ok & bro is serving others. Price are also ridiculous expensive like a Coca Cola is 4$! Not a good experience & I'm not coming anymore!!! Ruined my day! Just glad I'm finished with this restaurant. Also they said we don't have 70 cents while literally HOLDING a 1$ in his hand. He could ask for change because I had like some cents. Arcade machine are good but I had some problems like a big key piano & when I started pressing one key, the timer was over. But I still managed to get some tickets which is used against me when I was complaining to the staff. Bracelet cost a 3$ if you're new which is just ridiculous but have no choice.

I have. Wen sitting here for almost two hours got my food, never got my drinks refilled, waiter never come around. 30 minutes more im still waiting for my bill
J'adore l'ambiance 10/10❤? Le bol au Saumon était excellent, les saveurs étaient la! Grosse portion ( pour moi) Cependant, les Nachos, c'est ridicule. À peine de salsa & Guamole. C'était sec, à vrai dire, 21$ pour des croustilles?! Le dessert 🍨 manquait un peu beaucoup d'amour ( manque de coulis au chocolat) Les drinks sont excellents. Le service manquait un peu d'attention, selon moi! Belle soirée, remplie de toutou 🧸!
