Cependant, des variations existent selon les visites: des plats parfois mal cuits ou mal présentés, des prix jugés élevés et des portions pouvant sembler plus petites, des temps d'attente et des soucis d'hygiène signalés ponctuellement, ainsi que des choix d'accompagnement peu originaux. I visited The Keg in Laval on January 9, 2026, with a family table of five to celebrate a very special occasion: a joint birthday for both my father & grandfather. This was my first time dining at The Keg, & it absolutely did not disappoint.
We ordered the 14 oz Prime Rib & three of the 18 oz New York Striploins + black pepper chicken. The food was to die for, the spices were spot on, & everything was cooked to a perfect medium-rare.
However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the service. It has been a long time since we've experienced hospitality like this. We were served by Jean Michelle, who was an absolute professional. He was kind, articulate, smiling, & offered excellent menu suggestions. He was also wonderful with the kids at the table, which made the evening so much more relaxing.
His attention to detail was unmatched; our water glasses were never empty, & he picked up on the fact that we were celebrating birthdays without us having to make a big deal of it. He surprised us by bringing out a cake, which was such a thoughtful touch.
If you are going to the Keg in Laval, I highly suggest asking for Jean Michelle. He levels up the dining experience completely. Thank you for a wonderful night!
I have never had a steak or piece of meat that i would grade less than an 8. Loved the service & atmosphere of modern day steakhouse. I buttered up that hot bread & ate more than i should have. Ordered their prime rib with a side of vegetables. A glorious way to down a couple of thousand calories.
First of all the Servis was absolutely perfect!!!
Mm Mond ( mont?) Was such a great professional waitress. So kind & so respectful person. My congrats to the manager!.
I visit the restaurant 1 or 2 times every month. I never had problem until now.
I order a rib steak well done. NOT BURNING ONE.
Unfortunately the steak was totally burning
All.the steak was Black. The taste was bitter. I try to scratch it in case I can eat a little. OK the rib steak it was a TOTAL DISSASTER. It is so pity. It is a beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere & great staff but this plate destroyed everything...
The point is:
When a customer ask for well done is just we don't want to be burned . We don't want to see or eat blood in our plate. It is so simple.
I manager was also kind & sent us an ice-cream . Actually I should not pay the rib. I paid everything & only 32$ for tip. The bill was 265$.

For a steak house, the presentation & cooking of the prime rib was about as bad as I have seen. I asked for medium rare & it came out looking like it had been microwaved. There was no attention on the presentation of the steak. There was a huge, flaccid, white piece of fat that has nothing to do with adding flavour. Even when I asked for it to be re cooked, it was badly presented on the plate. The cheesecake was too dry. Very average food, dreadful presentation of the signature dish....it will be my last time in a Keg Steakhouse.
We were meeting another couple for dinner. We were the first to arrive & the hostess wasn't particularly friendly. The young lady who showed us to our table made up for the previous one as she was engaging & friendly. Our waitress Katia was superb. Friendly & efficient & with a smile on her face. We all enjoyed her service. I wanted to order a beer but did not like their draft selections. My wife's Aperrol spritz was average. My wife ordered the 6 ounce top classic top sirloin & she said it was a good steak. I had the 18 ounce prime rib (see picture) & it arrived looking like someone had dropped it. It was a good prime rib but not the best I've had. Another disappointment was cold French fries & too little jus. Also we were inundated with fruit flies the whole evening & when we asked the waitress, the reason was the fruits from the bar. My wife & my friends wife were swatting all night. I guess due to the hair products. Time for a solution to that!!! Overall the service really made the difference. I wouldn't say don't go but I'm not in a hurry to go back.

Great service, great food, the staff was nice & funny. The calamari entree was AWESOME. perfectly cooked. even the bread that they brought to the table was hot & fresh. the prime rib was delicious & so was the chicken. well seasoned, juicy, & just full of flavor. Price was great for the quality of food that you got.
Last night we were at the keg laval to celebrate 2 birthdays. We usually have all our celebrations at the keg. This is now the 3rd visit in a row that I have to send back a meal. I ordered my usual 10oz filet mignon, cooked medium. I received meat that was just about well done. I sent it back only to have the whole table completely finish their meals before mine came back. This second piece of meat was well done around the perimeter & nearly raw in the center. I give up! I'm very disappointed. The service was horrible, as if the waiter just didn't care. Hardly ever came to the table. Another person at the table ordered the roast beef. Inedible, fat & nearly raw. His was replaced quickly with another more acceptable piece. We have been coming to the keg for many years. Last time I sent back a rib steak & the time before that also a filet mignon, also 10oz. Is it the cooks fault? I don't want to lay blame but something is not right. Also sub-par service from the waiter! We used to love coming to your restaurant but after last night's experience I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do. This is the third bad experience.

The quality & consistency of their steaks are unparalleled. Every time I order a steak at The Keg, I know I'm in for a treat. Whether you like it rare, medium-rare, or well-done, the chefs at The Keg always get it right, & the taste is mouthwatering. The restaurant's ambiance is another reason why I keep going back. It strikes a perfect balance between elegance & comfort. The dimmed lighting, cozy seating, & the aroma of sizzling steaks in the air create a warm & inviting atmosphere. It's equally suitable for a romantic date night or a family celebration. The menu at The Keg offers a variety of steak options, from classic filet mignon to ribeye, & they also have a range of delicious sides to complement your meal. Standard classic steakhouse. Cocktails were rushed & not very tasty not nice looking. Food was awesome, we had a new york stripe, scalops with bacon & prime rib steak.
Usually this is one of my favorite restaurents (I always go to Place Ville Marie usually). But this time I was pretty dissapointed.
I know the specialty is steak but I always take that so this time I got the ribs. They were very bad. TINY portion, over cooked & boring sauce. Nothing special. What a waste of money...
Ive learned my lesson... always get the steaks.
