We had a really nice experience at Tanjai Restaurant! We tried the chicken murtabak/salna, ghee masala dosa, & a Mickey Mouse dosa for our little one. It was my first time trying chicken murtabak with salna, & I really enjoyed it.
The food was tasty, portions were decent, & the atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant was quite crowded when we visited, which was understandable, but the staff were still very friendly & attentive. 😊
The washroom was also clean, which is always a plus. Overall, a good family-friendly place with good food, generous portions, & great staff. Definitely worth trying!
We went there because of all these reviews, but all the items were so pathetic. This is not even anywhere close to the taste of South Indian food! We ordered hot & sour chicken soup, tawa fish fry, chicken lollipop, chilly idli, paneer masala dosa & kothu parotta..
Will not suggest this one to anyone!
We have come here before but have witnessed the quality of dosas go down over time. We ordered the vada sambar, chilli chicken & chicken keema does. While the vada was tasty & fresh, no chutney was provided & we had to specifically ask for it. The chilli chicken was flavorful. The dosa was a big disappointment...the chicken keema was bland & tasteless....the dosa was a little undercooked & wasn't really tasty.
We used Thanjai to cater some meals for our family reunion, & we could not have been happier with the experience!
We ordered vada, samosas, biryani, & had Thanjai come to our venue for a live dosa bar. Everything was fresh, flavorful, & delicious. The team was friendly, respectful, accommodating, arrived on time, & made everything seamless. The pricing was also very reasonable, especially for the quality of food & number of people we were feeding!
If you're looking for authentic, delicious Indian food in Montreal with outstanding customer service, I highly recommend Thanjai. They played a big part in making our family reunion such a memorable event. Thank you for everything!
One of the best South Indian restaurants in Montreal, strongly recommended, we tried Mysor dosa ,masala idly , carrot halwa , & gobi munchrian it was as per our expectations.
We tried chicken 65, mysore masala dosa, & masala tea. Everything was good. The owner & staff were friendly. Good vibes
Service was slightly chaotic(they seemed to have forgotten about the dosa, tea or kitchen was swamped with orders) & we had to check two times, tea took quite some time at the end. i assume newer staff or maybe
newer restaurants. It was pretty busy.
But pretty good food & would definitely comeback when visiting Quebec next time
