Review Summary

Thanjai is widely regarded as a top destination for authentic South Indian cuisine in Montreal, frequently praised for its fresh, flavorful, and creative dishes like dosas, biryani, and various traditional snacks. Many patrons highlight the warm hospitality, welcoming atmosphere, and professional service provided by the staff, who often go above and beyond to accommodate special requests and dietary needs. While the vast majority of experiences are positive and emphasize the restaurant's consistency and value, some diners have noted occasional inconsistencies in service speed or food preparation. We tried chicken 65, mysore masala dosa, & masala tea. Everything was good. The owner & staff were friendly. Good vibes

Service was slightly chaotic(they seemed to have forgotten about the dosa, tea or kitchen was swamped with orders) & we had to check two times, tea took quite some time at the end. i assume newer staff or maybe
newer restaurants. It was pretty busy.

But pretty good food & would definitely comeback when visiting Quebec next time

I truly appreciate the kindness & exceptional service the staff showed my family. We arrived with a group of 25 people &, with only about 10 minutes' notice, they graciously accommodated all of us. Despite the many requests coming from every direction, they remained patient, attentive, & welcoming throughout our visit.

I ordered the vegetable noodles & the butter paneer masala, & both were absolutely delicious! The butter paneer masala was so good that I couldn't leave without buying a container of the sauce to take home. I can't wait to recreate the flavors at home.

This was my first time dining here, & it certainly won't be my last. The combination of outstanding food & genuinely caring service made for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant, & I'll definitely be back soon!

Really professional employees! They even accomodated for our request & made us a dish that wasn't originally in the menu. It's definitely comeback again.
