I ordered 2 masala dosas today;

Dosas were eatable/average.

Masala was really bland & my baby enjoyed it really well as it was a good replacement for his baby food.

The red chutney was good & had strong flavour to it.

Sambar was watery but tasted nice but would've been better with less water.

Value: for $25(for 2 Masala dosas), I really expected something better.

Update:

Since my poor experience years ago, I never went to Thanjai but I was at an Onam program in South Shore Montréal & the food was amazing. Almost all the dishes hit the right spots, & to my surprise, it was prepared by Thanjai. So I'm changing my star rating for Thanjai to 5 stars & will definitely visit the restaurant to see the improvement. Keep it up Thanjai

We went around 9:30pm & ordered a bunch of masala dosas & egg kothu. Egg kothu was pretty good but the tomato chutney that came with the dosas was spoilt. I even complained about it but the waiter claimed that it was done fresh. No other action was taken besides denying . Very disappointed

We had a really nice experience at Tanjai Restaurant! We tried the chicken murtabak/salna, ghee masala dosa, & a Mickey Mouse dosa for our little one. It was my first time trying chicken murtabak with salna, & I really enjoyed it.

The food was tasty, portions were decent, & the atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant was quite crowded when we visited, which was understandable, but the staff were still very friendly & attentive. 😊

The washroom was also clean, which is always a plus. Overall, a good family-friendly place with good food, generous portions, & great staff. Definitely worth trying!

We went there because of all these reviews, but all the items were so pathetic. This is not even anywhere close to the taste of South Indian food! We ordered hot & sour chicken soup, tawa fish fry, chicken lollipop, chilly idli, paneer masala dosa & kothu parotta..
Will not suggest this one to anyone!

We tried chicken 65, mysore masala dosa, & masala tea. Everything was good. The owner & staff were friendly. Good vibes

Service was slightly chaotic(they seemed to have forgotten about the dosa, tea or kitchen was swamped with orders) & we had to check two times, tea took quite some time at the end. i assume newer staff or maybe
newer restaurants. It was pretty busy.

But pretty good food & would definitely comeback when visiting Quebec next time

I studied three years in Montreal, & never knew about this place! Missed out.. Really authentic south Indian food. Everything we ordered was great. Especially the Chettinad masala dosa! Chettinad masala's aroma was so fresh!! Highly recommended.

This is easily one of my go to places when I'm in the area. The food is always fresh & full of flavour. For starters I'd recommend the chicken 65. & as a main course the briyani or the dosa chicken manchurian wrap. Or even the masala dosa, which is huge. The owner is always kind

I ordered a masala dosa & was sent a chicken dosa instead. I don't eat non-vegetarian food, so this completely ruined my meal. This kind of mistake is serious & should not happen. Very disappointed with the lack of care in handling orders.

We visited this restaurant for the first time with high expectations. I went with my husband & brother, & the restaurant looked nice from the inside, which made us feel hopeful about the experience.
We ordered Chicken Lollipop, Chicken 777, Masala Dosa, & Chicken Curry Dosa. Our food arrived within 20-25 minutes, but unfortunately, the taste was very disappointing. None of the dishes were good, & we were extremely dissatisfied.
What made the experience worse was that from the next day onwards, all three of us had stomach issues, including vomiting & stomach pain. We usually go out for dinner once a week & enjoy exploring different restaurants, but something like this has never happened to us before.
Overall, it was a very bad experience, & I would not recommend this place.
