The reviews are NOT LYING when they say that this is a really good spot. I recently just went to Thailand & this place? oml coming from a country with very good food this is the best I've tried after coming back to Montreal maybe even the best food in Montreal that I've tried my whole life here. My husband & I got the plates, falafel & the chicken one to try both & we both loved it! we might love the falafel more tho, it is so crispy but also so soft & flavorful in the inside. Will definitely come back for the shawarma ♥?
I genuinely think this may be one of the best Mediterranean meals I've had in Montreal.
I first came across TESFA after a previous order issue where my hummus & falafel never arrived, so I never actually got the chance to try the food. This time, not only did they completely honor & rectify the situation with kindness & professionalism, but the meal absolutely exceeded every expectation I had.
The hummus is hands down the best hummus I have ever tasted. Smooth, buttery, rich, & impossibly silky. It literally melted in my mouth. I've never experienced hummus with this kind of texture before.
I ordered a platter with hummus, chicken, fattoush salad, & pita, & every single element was exceptional. The chicken was unbelievably tender & moist, perfectly seasoned, & full of flavor. The fattoush was vibrant, fresh, & beautifully balanced, with the mint making the entire salad feel bright & refreshing. & the pita? Warm, thick, pillowy, & clearly made with care.
What struck me most is that everything tasted intentional. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt generic. Every bite felt like it was made by people who genuinely care about food.
This is the kind of place you almost don't want to tell people about because it feels like a hidden gem. But honestly, TESFA deserves every bit of recognition it gets.
Absolutely unforgettable.
I decided to try this on a whim & I was pleasently surprised!
This is NOT your typical middle-eastern fastfood experience.
Strong points:
- Freshness.
- Not overly salty & fat.
- Feels like mom cooked a good meal for you.
- Price feels right for what you get.
Constructive comment:
Portions size would be okay but big eaters will feel liks this is small. I took an entree & I am glad I did! An extra side of bread or meat would have been perfect in my case.
The meat does not feel like it was grilled on a vertical rotisserie (I had the chicken), but it was fresh & flavorful none the less.
I was sad to see no marinated turnip &/or hot pepper on my plate, it would be my only complaint!
Will I order again? Heck yeah!
***I removed one star simply because I asked for door to be rang for delivery & they did not oblige. If this is handled from & 3rd party delivery service then consider this 5 stars.***
We enjoyed the fresh & zesty flavors of our food! The chicken bowl was packed with veggies & chicken & a generous helping of spicy sauce! The falafel salad had a minty flavor coating the many veggies. They forgot to include a side pita with the salad but that was more than ok as we couldn't finish the generous portions anyway.
Proprietor is very nice & offered as a few pita chips as we placed our order love the sumac Spice in the chicken pita wrap that I had can't wait to go back
Food is really good ! Ordered the chicken snd falafel & they were delicious ! Definetely coming back
Great experience at TESFA! My friend & I ordered two chicken shawarmas along with hummus & four falafels, & everything was excellent. Fresh, well-seasoned, & clearly made with care. The customer service was just as strong as the food. The staff & cooks were kind, hardworking, & welcoming throughout our visit. We also had the pleasure of meeting the co-founder, Efrem, who was genuinely warm & passionate about the restaurant. This is a place that values quality, hospitality, & teamwork. Looking forward to coming back again!
It's like fast-food without table service but they still ask for tip when you pay. Regretted to tip when I realised you have to PAY for water. Got the shawarma pita, pita is nice but the chicken is a bit dry.
Update: Ordered again & we are back to the original version!
Always my to go place for take out but today the food tasted way different than usual. There was too much cabbage in my falafel pita, next, too much tomato & cucumber moisture that made the bread so soggy from inside that I could not even finish it. They did not even put their usual sauce inside today. My boyfriend ordered the shawarma & said the chicken tasted not fresh. Whatever changed here should be undone right away!
