Loved Terrasse Place d'Armes. It's on top of a hotel in Old Port with a great view & a really nice summer vibe. The drinks & food were solid, & having DJs adds to the overall ambience. I had the calamari & the cheese & charcuterie board, & both were amazing. Easily one of my favorite cheese boards I've had in Montreal.
Very disappointed in the careless service I received while visiting for my girlfriend's birthday. The food was good, drinks were okay. A family that came in after us asked if the service was slow tonight.. tells you what kind of night it was. Other reviews aren't wrong…
Great spot for drinks with an amazing view of the city. The vibe was relaxed & the location is perfect. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a rooftop in Montreal.

What could have been an enjoyable experience has been totally wrecked by the waiting time of a simple shareable dish. We got our cocktails in decent time but after past an half hour of waiting for the plate, nothing arrived. Having finished our drinks & still without food after an half hour, we decided to leave the place not hiding our frustration. Might have been due to an over busy kitchen, but a least they should have notified us of a longer waiting time. This is not how you take care of customers.

Went for pre dinner drinks around 5:30 before dining downstairs. Nice atmosphere but started getting windy after awhile with expected rain. We were able to get a seat at the bar which was perfect. Drink was good. There was a DJ as well. Would definitely go back!
Came to Monteal with the Mrs. for her birthday & wanted to treat her with the pretty views, ambiance, good food & great drinks & that's what happened! Paul took care of us & he was absolutley phenomenal; from the banter to the attention to detail in steps of service & romancing of dishes & cocktails he did fantastic! Was looking for a restaurant for a "woah" typa night, I got both with Pauly service! Thanks again brotha Also - food was impeccable, a little slow but the city views & great cocktails with good company make it all worthwhile!

Started with Grilled Caesar salad, Red snapper ceviche, & 8E CIEL (a gin cocktail). The salad was excellent with a full anchovy atop & a good strong dressing. The ceviche was slightly thicker cut with a superb dressing that highlighted citrus without being tart. The cocktail came in a martini glass with foam floating & was very well balanced, the alcohol was not the star. For our mains we had the NY Strip, & the Sea Bass. We agreed the steak was one of the better we have ever had & we eat lots of fancy steak. The fish was fine. My wife really liked it but I am not a fan of cooked fish so I can't give it a fair review. The view was almost as good as the steak. We saw the sun go down over the city skyline & before its descent the sun & the wind can be strong so be prepared with sun glasses, & hold on to your tall drink glasses. The view for a city central location is hard to beat so it is well worth the slight bother.
Probably one of the most disappointing terrace experiences for me & my friends. We went because it was highly recommended by some people we knew but we were quickly disappointed by the service. Our time there started off great as we were seated promptly & given the drinks we ordered. However, upon the time we wanted to order our food, we were left ignored to the point that my friend had to request herself for the food to be ordered. (We were also seated in a very visible area & noticed tables that were seated after us were being served immediately.) What made our time a disappointing experience however is the person who ended up serving us. The entire time they spoke to us in a condescending tone & made us feel rushed to leave as soon as we finished our meal. The entire interaction did not leave a great impression for any of us. For a total of almost 250$, the only thing that made it worth our time was the view & somewhat the food. This isn't a place we would go back to, but we hope that this will not be an experience for any future guests.
Stay away from the dry burger which is also served with cold fries. Five Guys is better with half the price. Caesar salad was ok but salty anchovies could be better chopped up. If you want view, come & order drinks but not food. Servers were nice but seem distracted. You have to ask them for everything, like napkin & cutlery. Never ate salad with fingers before...
Came here for a drink on the rooftop. I'm a local & this is definitely a trendy place for cocktails after work. Atmosphere is nice, trendy with a DJ playing good music. They sat us at the farthest possible table near all the air exchangers. I asked to be moved & was told all other tables were reserved. I was told if there are no shows then they would move us. We had one drinks & by the time we left, all these "reserved" tables were still empty. I counted over 10 tables empty. Service was VERY slow cause the staff could not see us we were sitting so far away. Staff were friendly & apologetic for the delay but very slow. That's the reason we only had one drink. We sat there for close to 20-min with no service. Wait staff were busy chatting together near the DJ. Overall nice location & perfect view of Montreal. Great place to be at sunset to enjoy a few drinks & the food looked good. Unfortunately, a bad experience here for us. I would like to say I would be back but I will likely choose another spot for our next 5-7.
