If you decide to go with the set three course lunch/dinner meal, don't.
You're better off going somewhere else because they give you the cheap stuff (skinny tough steak, unless you order a $60 one off the menu then you'll get a good one). & their servers are very disorganized & half seem lost half the time. If you provide a service & product it should be good quality & consistent all around for everyone. That's what gives you a good reputation.
Below is my full experience.
Overall just a disappointing experience. Went in for a three course meal (lunch deal) with my family & things started off great. Service was excellent, place was nice & it wasn't busy at all(almost empty the entire time btw).
Then things took a turn. I ordered a steak & I asked multiple servers multiple times for another plate yet, it took me like 15 min to get another one (I just wanted to share my food with my little baby sis). Also they took my steak away from me after I buttered it up & said'sorry wrong plate' wtf?!? I was starving man & it looked so good. The replaced steak they gave me was the skinniest thing ever. Like they injected it with ozempic! So like I'm not trying to starve myself, I'm trying to EAT.
After that weird bit, my family & I waited & waited for our last course, Dessert!! Yet we didn't get service until 20-30 min after they took away our plates??!?? Not trying to be sitting in a restaurant for the whole day.
When they offered us dessert it was Baileys & my father said'we don't drink' (also there's little kids here ..why is that the dessert??). The server said'ok lemme see what I can do…ok so how about coffee?'
Lord.
None of us drink coffee also like a majority of us were kids. You're telling me your restaurant doesn't even have fruit to offer for dessert the most they can do is a drink that costs $3….right, right. That's just bizarre & cheap 🤷?♀?.
So, we never got our last course. Just straight up had 2/3 courses & the restaurant was satisfied to give their customers that.
But the cherry on top would have to be when our server told my dad that he should've left him a tip when he paid the bill. HA HAAAAA Anddd my dad said'why? We didn't get all of our food & service was mediocre, so why should I tip??' & the server said because it's the right thing to do & his manager backed him up. The nerve man, the nerve.
Also they don't care about feedback or criticism (things that are harmless & help make you better) as seen by their replies to ONLY 5/5 reviews. How sad.
I genuinely can't understand how this place has a 4-star rating. TLDR: skip it if you want food.
First, it took more than 10 minutes for anyone to take my order. I was sitting there waiting while nothing happened. The hostess eventually came back to ask whether someone had already taken my order. I said no, & even then it took another five minutes before a waiter came over. The restaurant wasn't even half full.
The staff were polite & friendly, but they seemed completely disorganized. They appeared to be trying their best, but the service was mediocre because there didn't seem to be any coordination. This is likely the result of poor management. The cook was the only person who appeared to be consistently working, turning out plates nonstop. Meanwhile, the bartender never seemed willing to step away from the bar to help take an order or even refill a glass of water.
I ordered the burger, & it was very disappointing. The beef patty tasted like it had been frozen for years. It was bland & had the texture of a generic mass of what was once beef, with a soft, jelly-like consistency rather than the texture of freshly ground meat. It reminded me of the kind of burger you'd get at a kebab shop for $5-not one that costs $25.
To make matters worse, the burger was drenched in sauce, which made it feel like an attempt to mask the poor quality of the meat.
Poor quality ingredients & disorganized service is the result of poor management. The staff at the front seems nice & willing to help but they need guidance. I dare the owner try the burger & say'yes this is what I want for my restaurant'.
Overall, this was an overpriced meal with slow, disorganized service & a burger that fell well below expectations. I wouldn't recommend it.
Had a steak dinner with my father & brother. We were well taken care of by our waiter Andy (of course everyone played their part) . He served us with a high quality standard.
The atmosphere was really chill the drinks were great (we had pina coladas & mojitos). The chill jazz music made the atmosphere mellow. We had an amazing experience. Will definately revisit. I highly recommend coming here for a nice dinner &(or) drinks.
Amazing food & amazing service. We walked around looking at three places & the menus & decided on the 149. It is exceptional among the many terraces that cater to tourists knowing they may never be back. The 149 is different: truly tasty food, presentation, service & seating. Highly recommend the exceptional dumplings wagyu & the tartares. Our waiter Mohamed Amin was amazing. The 149 will certainly be the one we will always go to in the old port confident in the quality, price, & atmosphere.
Came to celebrate a very important thing. Both of my brothers graduation. What an awful way of celebrating, I was more than disappointed. How is it possible to wait 1:30h-2h for food to be served when the restaurant wasn't even busy? The price is way more than what it's worth, the quality was awful. The staff lied a lot, pretending the food was ready & being prepared & it wasn't the case. Very very upset that it ruined a special night.
Very disappointing experience overall. The staff seemed unprepared, the atmosphere became frustrating because of the delays, & the food quality did not justify the cost. Left feeling like the restaurant cares more about appearance than customer satisfaction.
Really frustrating experience from start to finish. The restaurant clearly struggles with organization & customer service. Nobody seemed attentive, & the overall experience felt careless & unprofessional. Considering the prices, the quality of both the service & food was far below expectations.
