Open on the Plateau since 2014, our festive and unifying events distinguish us. Themes, seasonal festivities and parties, we are both a neighborhood bar and the Montreal icon for epicureans. Your taste buds and your belly will be in good hands at Torchés!
You will be seduced by our warm decor, our electrifying atmosphere during the broadcast of hockey games with sound, in addition to talented DJs and a Rock atmosphere! Also, our many beers on tap and our selection of over a hundred spirits blend in perfectly with our varied menu ranging from Nagano ribs to foie gras torchon on gingerbread!
At Taverne Les Torchés, the overall impression is a lively, casual spot with friendly, efficient service and a menu that covers everything from brisket and ribs to veggie burgers, poutine, and shareable plates. The ambience shines for sports fans, with numerous TVs, a welcoming bar scene, and a steady flow of advice from staff, along with free popcorn that many guests appreciate. Food experiences vary, with some dishes described as delicious and satisfying and others more average, though cravings for the ribs or the pulled pork grilled cheese come up. Language service is occasionally noted as a drawback, with some guests finding French less readily available than expected. Drinks and cocktails are a highlight for many, with standout options and generous portions, while the margarita is not recommended by some tasters. Accessibility and comfort are mentioned positively by several guests, who praise a friendly atmosphere and a space suited for groups to watch games or hang out before events. Overall, Taverne Les Torchés emerges as a popular Plateau spot for casual bites, drinks, and game nights, where the vibe, fast service, and crowd appeal outweigh occasional price or language hiccups.
One look at the disgusting alley where they set out their trash, & it's a huge'nope, not eating here!' Really gross guys. Do better for your community!
Je vais à ce bar depuis mes 18 ans. Le service a toujours été impeccable, la bouffe est parfaite pour un bar & l'alcool est abordable. Les cocktails sont premium. Je recommande fortement !

Very subpar. Service was extremely slow. Went asking if they forgot our order they said were in a rush but there was barely anyone in the place. 45+ min for two basic cocktails that tasted watery. Would not recommend.
Très bon service aux tables & au bar. La bouffe est ok, sans plus, mais ils ont du popcorn gratuit. Impossible de manquer la game du CH avec toutes les TV qu'ils ont.
Waitress was so cool, she made me feel like sitting & have a drink, & I don't drink, & I was there for a takeout. The food had different levels of enjoyability, some was kinda meh, some I could have eaten 5 pounds of. Overall satisfying, will go back for the ribs, certainly

On December 23, around 10 PM, I entered this bar. After standing in the entrance area for 30 minutes, I finally sat at a table for another 20 minutes. During this time, I observed one staff member checking themselves in the mirror while another stared at the wall. I was never seated, presented with a menu, or assisted by anyone. This experience was mediocre due to the evident lack of attention from your staff. It is disgraceful to ignore paying customers who are there to enjoy a drink & a meal. Please include the current staff in training to ensure they learn proper customer service.
A Friday night around 7pm Stopped in for a pint & a bite before a concert. The veggie burger, Cesar Salad & fries were very good. Enjoyed the atmosphere, music & the service was excellent
Here's the deal: Go for some drinks, to watch a game, & appreciate the excellent service. I'd avoid the food, so just come here after dinner. They were very accommodating to find the game on TV that my party wanted to watch.
'Taverne Les Torchés is hands-down the best spot in Montreal for a casual night out! The atmosphere is genuinely super-always lively, but in a fun, upbeat way that makes it perfect for hanging out with friends. Their genius move? Providing free popcorn! It's the ultimate snack while you're enjoying their impressive selection of beers & cocktails. More than just a bar, it truly is a great spot for games, whether it's catching the Habs on the big screen or just playing a round of cards at the table. The staff is consistently friendly, quick, & makes you feel right at home. A total gem on the Plateau!'
