I had a desperate situation & it was not busy at the restaurant. I asked if I could use the washroom & the waitress looked at me horrified. I understand needing to be a customer to use facilities, but I was disgusted by the level of service & disappointed that I could not be granted a basic human right. Across the street, a business restaurant LEZVOS WEST was more than accommodating, & even wished me a happy holiday. I'd definitely go there instead. There's a lot to be said about service & decency. Restaurant Tao had neither.

The. Rudest. Staff. Ever. Just Rude.

I made a reservation to celebrate my sons & my own birthday. We had a party of 7. From the moment we walked in the restaurant, we could tell we were not going to be treated with respect. We were given these weird looks.

I thought perhaps I was reading into things that weren't there. We sat down, we decided to take a look at the menu anyway. The waiter came by, no eye contact, no patience. Did not want to describe the dishes to us. Looked at my friend like she was stupid when she asked about a particular mushroom.

About an hour & a half later, when the food finally arrived, the waiter practically threw the plates on the table. Whenever we tried to get someone's attention, they walked right by.

I want to mention that the food was delicious. From the soups to the dumplings to all of our entrees, even the green tea ice cream.

The service is what left a nasty taste in our mouths. Even when it was time to pay, the credit card machine was practically left at our table for an entire five minutes before I had decided enough was enough. I asked my family & friends to grab their belongings & I took the machine to the front of the restaurant & gave them a piece of my mind.

They all just looked at me with blank faces.

Work on your customer service. The customer is always right. We were there to spend money & enjoy a great meal like everyone else in there. There was no reason the children at our table should have waited so long to eat.

I should have walked out when we were treated wrong from the beginning. Never again will I eat here. Customer beware.

Great neighborhood eatery. Excellent service. Food & presentation equally great! While we were dining we never had to ask the waiter for anything (he kept filling our glasses with ice-cold water)....At the end of the meal, the roasted honey walnuts were simply to die for...It has become one of our regular restaurants!
