Every time I went, I didn't find the staff very pleasant. & regarding the food, today I paid almost $7 a day old croissant (smashed) with some pistachio spread + pieces on it, it wasn't great, the price should be lowered. I don't really recommend that spot on Rue Wellington/Verdun.View more
View more
8$ iced chai latte that was basically just milk & croissant pastry that tasted a week oldView more
Staff is relatively chill & nice, but the food is just a joke. Especially for the price you pay & their hyped sandwiches. Came around 8am (30 minutes after opening) & to my surprise the sandwiches did not look that great, i still convinced myself that it was maybe just the looks since there's no way something can not be fresh so early in the morning. First bite tasted like the back of my freezer, all i could taste was the solid croissant & the cheese, lettuce & spinach were lifeless. This whole experience was very disappointing because I know what this cafe is capable of, if the sandwich has been out all day, just throw it out & make a fresh one.View more
Great selection of coffee options as well as sweet & savoury pastries (including more filling menu items). There are lots of tables & the there's a good variety of comfortable seating options making this a great spot to set up for both short meet-ups & longer sit-ins. Outlets along most of the walls & nice lighting. I had the chocolate hazelnut croissant which was delicious. I definitely recommend this lovely spot.View more
I don't like the new look of the cafe & the menu is just confusing now because I don't know what I'm supposed to expect, high end French pastries or vegan cakes & cookies? Before, it had a rustic charm & the pastry counter was big & long, showing a variety of croissants & bread. This place used to be known for its croissants & cookies, now those are gone, partly because they reduced the counter space. Now, it's pretty clear they're following French baking micro trends like trompe l'oeils, flat croissants, New York croissants, etc. Also, for whatever reason, the baker is obsessed with making so many pistachio-flavoured cakes & pastries. Honestly, I just feel bad for the employees because they have barely any counter space to work on & one tiny oven for heating up sandwiches. They're basically on top of each other. What this place is missing is a menu board to put on the wall. It looks like the interior designer put all the furniture in for a fancy French cafe but forgot that you need pastry cases & worktops for the employees, especially a menu board to show prices. I bought a sandwich today & it was still cold in the middle after being in the oven. I watched another person make the same complaint. Lastly, I bought two tiny cakes to go but for some reason, they ran out of boxes & put it in a giant 12x12 box. That was annoying to carry home on the bus. Service could be better but it would help to actually design this place as a cafe & not what a movie set designer thinks it should be. The prices are a bit much too. At this point, you're better off going to Premier Moisson.View more
This is a beautiful café, but the service when I went was terrible, & the food was at best mediocre. There were only two people working on a busy Sunday afternoon, & it took about 15 minutes to put in an order at the counter. Coffee came with no spoon, there were no clean water glasses left, & the croissant was cold & rubbery- not so different from the six packs at IGA In the plastic containers. My friend's croissant sandwich was also cold. So yay for the decor, but if you can't get a croissant right in Montreal, don't serve them.View more
exquisite bakery/café super close to De l'Eglise metro station. met up with a friend for tea & tried the croissant fourée au pistache & it was simply divine. very friendly staff, excellent service & they even allowed my cat (who was in his carrier) to sit with us. 5-star establishment you MUST check out when in MontréalView more
Super cute bakery. The first time I bought three or four pastries because its one of those shops that make it hard of pick just one. Second time, tried both a savoury crossant & a sweet stuffed croissant. Their savoury ham & cheese is crunchy & delicious, their pistachio cream was unfortunately pretty but a little too sweet for me. The chairs were wonderful to enjoy with friends or with a book, the decor is classy & inviting & very beige.View more
Very beautiful inside & it is relaxing. We had a croissant praliné & a pistachio eclair. The texture was good. The flavor was ok. I had better pasteries in other places.View more
Amazing croissants, especially the one with cheese | So delicious, one of the best I ever tried!View more
Warm friendly people, amazing coffee & croissants 😊💯View more
Our visit to Sweet Lee's was a mixed bag of emotion! The selection was good, but seems to have shrunken from before it renovation. The food quality (particularly the croissants) remained excellent. The atmosphere however seems to have lost some of its charm during the renovations, changing its rooted rustic theme into a more Instagram-able upscale vibe.View more
View more
To echo a lot of other reviews: Yeah the atmosphere is definitely not what it used to be sadly, neither is the service (at least for now), & the selection of food is definitely smaller than it used to be even if there are some new interesting sandwiches & other things here & there. Things that would immediately bring back the 5 star rating it used to have: - More emphasis on nicer service, it makes a difference, decor is subjective but nicer service will make the atmosphere better. - Stop reducing the selection of available foods, the counter already feels super small compared to what it used to be. - There's croissants & things on top of the counter to save space right at the height where people are speaking & talking, I'd rather not get croissants that people have been spitting on - Make sure quality doesn't keep decreasing. Right now it's inconsistent which is understandable with change, but I'm weary of where I'll be in a few months or a year - PLEASE GET A NEW WAY TO WARM THINGS UP, WARM SCONES/SANDWICHES ARE LITERALLY COLD UPON PICK UPView more
Oh man, did Sweet Lee's change owners? The old decor was really unique & rustic, but now it looks like they've completely gutted it out & replaced it with a very "vanilla" decor. I'm going to miss the old bakery; it used to have so much character. Now it looks more like a generic cafe. I still enjoyed their croissants & coffee nonetheless, but it looks like their selection shrunk too. It's unfortunate.View more
View more
View more
What's happened with this place I liked this coffee place so much before, especially the original & so beautiful decor. Now, with the white walls, cheap chairs, & repainted vintage-looking ceiling (my favorite 🥲), the ambiance is gone. The food looks smaller & there's less choice than before. We bought our favorite croissants, &... they were not good cooked inside (I hope I'll not be sick). With the old owners, we had this feeling of being with a family. Now, ... it's cold, any "Allo" when you come inside. With a broken heart, I'm putting this one star for ambiance. One more place that's gone ... 💔View more
Great selection of pastries. Weird looking Croissant aux Amands, but still very tasty!View more
Came here for a quick lunch. The cheese croissant was delicious & fresh. Very light & feels like one of the closest to what you should get for a savoury croissant. I don't give 5 stars because the service was much slower than what you would expect for a spot would this much people. It feels like they weren't ready for a rush around brunch time on a Saturday, which is strangeView more
