On me dit que le sandwich que j'ai commandé est en fait le même. Pourtant j'ai commandé une baguette à la viande cornichon & fromage & on m'amène un pain rond au sésame à la viande avec poivron. À la 3e tentative de la serveuse j'ai finalement eu mon sandwich une dizaines de minutes après ma copine; - Qualité alimentaire médiocre.
Ce n'est pas mon genre de mettre des mauvaises notes mais attendre plus de 15 minutes pour avoir un produit qui est en vitrine & qu'on a payé, pour au final ne pas avoir ce qu'on pensait, & que ça soit froid à l'intérieur c'est pas cool. Je ne recommande pas. D'autant plus que pour le prix c'est vraiment basique. Je suis vraiment déçue
I used to absolutely love this cafe, & I was genuinely excited by the new change coming in. But, I have to agree with previous comments that the service is at an all time low... The baristas change so often that every time you order something, you get a completely different thing. Its always packed with workers but none of them take your order! The wait time is absolutely ridiculous & I wish they were friendlier. The owner is always walking around & sitting at a table with other people he meets with which just feels so odd. The place is so much more cramped & noisy. The bathrooms are always missing soap & tissues. It's just a complete mess... I'm hoping they get the hang of things soon.
Toujours un plaisir d'aller prendre le café là! La clientèle est sympathique & les baristas aussi :) les croissants & les scones sont toujours délicieux. C'est ici que j'achète les gâteaux de fête & je n'ai jamais été déçue!
Great place for a girls hangout! Good coffee & pastries but wasn't a huge fan of the sandwich options personally.
Coffee was excellent, sandwich & cake very tasty. I was served by Sonja, who was very friendly.
I love Verdun with its quirky little stores & restaurants. I also love the fact that it is much easier to find parking than in downtown Montreal - even when going to a place located at a prime location such as Sweet Lee's, right across the big church. The food is excellent, although it takes a long time to heat up certain items in their little toaster oven. They also make a really good Matcha Latte which is not easy to find. The atmosphere is urban cosy-chic, altogether a very pleasant experience.

To echo a lot of other reviews: Yeah the atmosphere is definitely not what it used to be sadly, neither is the service (at least for now), & the selection of food is definitely smaller than it used to be even if there are some new interesting sandwiches & other things here & there. Things that would immediately bring back the 5 star rating it used to have: - More emphasis on nicer service, it makes a difference, decor is subjective but nicer service will make the atmosphere better. - Stop reducing the selection of available foods, the counter already feels super small compared to what it used to be. - There's croissants & things on top of the counter to save space right at the height where people are speaking & talking, I'd rather not get croissants that people have been spitting on - Make sure quality doesn't keep decreasing. Right now it's inconsistent which is understandable with change, but I'm weary of where I'll be in a few months or a year - PLEASE GET A NEW WAY TO WARM THINGS UP, WARM SCONES/SANDWICHES ARE LITERALLY COLD UPON PICK UP
Food was good but service is completely opposite. Guys that work there was not welcoming at all . It seems they don't want anyone to enter the place. I told few times thank you & no one responded welcome. They don't smile or trying to upsell anything. I was interested in buying. It's difficult to let business grow if you have such problems. Maybe I will try one more time this place. Hope manager will talk to his team in order to uplift the current situation.
Oh man, did Sweet Lee's change owners? The old decor was really unique & rustic, but now it looks like they've completely gutted it out & replaced it with a very "vanilla" decor. I'm going to miss the old bakery; it used to have so much character. Now it looks more like a generic cafe. I still enjoyed their croissants & coffee nonetheless, but it looks like their selection shrunk too. It's unfortunate.
J'étais surprise à ma dernière visite, nous avons trouvé un ambiance renouvelée & chaleureuse. Plus grand espace, lumineux. La qualité du café & des desserts est toujours parfaite..
I hate to write this review because the old Sweet Lee's was amazing in every aspect & totally deserved 5 stars, it was one of my go-to places, but after the new renovations this place just looks sad & just like every other cafe. I was shocked that the food quality dropped a noticeable amount. The new layout also seems crammed & not very well thought out, it's a shame to see the rustic vibe completely washed out. Also worse food & bakery selection....although the service was decent but that doesn't make up for the other issues. Sady I will no longer recommend this place, but I might give it one more chance.
Amazing vegan options! I have tried their sandwiches & pastries & truly love them. I would recommend for a casual bite but also for birthday cakes.
What used to be a charming, unique café has been renovated into a bland, boring space. None of the staff seemed to have a clue, so after milling around in front of the cash, because no one knew where to order or queue, for 10 minutes or so, we left. Their food still looked appetizing.
Je suis dévastée par les rénovations récentes de sweet lee's. Ce café avait beaucoup de personnalité avec son plafond en étain & son esthétique vintage. Maintenant il est tout blanc & inoffensif, identique aux autres millions de cafés modernes. Quelle perte pour le quartier.
De passage a k événement Cabane Panache très occupé en plein après midi.L'Amandine était excellente ainsi que le latté.😀
As of March 2024, absolutely heartbroken about what has happened to this place. For as long as they had been in Verdun, Sweet Lees was my go-to place in a neighborhood with tons of option for both coffee & baked goods. They were simply the best. I was crushed to find out when dropping by yesterday that it suddenly looked like a completely different business, now almost all seating & with the food counter a tiny fraction of the size it used to be, with their inventory naturally cut down just as drastically. Despite how upset I was about it, I still tried to give them a chance & check whether the quality of the food & drinks were still the same. Unfortunately, again, instead of being reassured I had to face the reality that I would have to completely grieve what Sweet Lees used to be. Matcha latté ordered to drink on the spot arrived at a tepid temperature already too barely over room temperature to be enjoyable to drink, let alone sit down & enjoy at a leisure pace. Considering how much they sacrificed to get more seating space, it's strange how this gave the message that they wanted me to hurry up drinking & just get out of there. Also ordered a little cup of maple syrup trifle. Custard was incredibly stodgy, which is sort of an issue when it is the main component of the dessert. I never though there would be a day I would leave a negative review about this place. To be fair, I also never thought that Sweet Lees would one day be run by people who'd decide they'd rather be a middling coffee shop with fancy furniture than a fantastic rustic bakery. If anyone needs me, I'll be busy mourning for a while.
