Sweet Lee's is a cozy European-style café & bakery in Verdun that feels both welcoming & thoughtfully designed. The space is bright, recently renovated, & filled with natural light, with plenty of comfortable seating. It works well whether you're meeting a friend, taking a break during a walk on Wellington, or spending some quiet time with a laptop.
Their menu offers a nice variety of baked goods, fresh bread, sandwiches, & desserts. The pastries are well-made & consistently good, & the coffee is solid & enjoyable. It's the kind of place where you can actually taste the care put into the food rather than just admire it on Instagram.
The staff are generally friendly & helpful, though service can occasionally be a bit slow during busy hours. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but that's fairly standard for cafés in this area & feels reasonable given the quality & atmosphere.
Overall, Sweet Lee's is a charming neighborhood spot with good coffee, tasty pastries, & a calm, pleasant vibe. It's not trying to be flashy, & that's exactly why it works. A lovely place to stop, sit, & slow down for a while.
J'ai adoré le décor & les nombreuses employées sont toutes souriantes & sympathiques. Le café est bon, l'endroit propre & la déco remarquable! J'ai félicité la charmante propriétaire pour son commerce. J'aimais bien la forme initiale avec Sweet & Lees. Force est d'admettre que la nouvelle mouture est également agréable. Côté nourriture, j'ai aimé les rouleaux au poulet & les gâteaux.
Nous avons commandé notre gâteau de mariage avec Sweet Lee & c'était délicieux! Facile de commander & le gâteau était magnifique. Nous avions commandé un gâteau vegan & nos invités étaient très surpris à quel point c'était bon! Je recommande à 100%

Le décor est chaleureux, cosy & joliment soigné - un cadre parfait pour une pause gourmande ou un moment entre amis. On s'y sent immédiatement bien.Les pâtisseries sont tout simplement exceptionnelles. Le Royal Chocolat est un pur délice: riche, fondant & parfaitement équilibré pour les amateurs de chocolat.Le café est très bon.Mention spéciale également pour le service, qui est toujours accueillant, souriant & attentionné.
This place is not good. Don't fall for the trap of their window pastries-they look better than they taste. The only good thing about it is the ghost of the place it used to be. Order a London Fog or a Matcha Latte & you'll get coloured milk. They shouldn't call it Sweet Lee's, they should call it Stale Lee's
The quality just isn't what it used to be. The food didn't taste fresh, & it felt like the standards have slipped. The staff was friendly, but overall the experience didn't live up to the Sweet Lee's I remember.
Still mourning the old Sweet Lee's. I have been there a few times since the new owners took over & renovated, but ambiance, quality, service, music, all have gone down significantly.
I was disappointed when I went to Sweet Lees around 3-4pm today, the cafe wasn't too busy but there were many people trying to have a conversation & the music was being played so loudly it was unpleasant. It wasn't music you would typically hear in a café either. Rap/intense pop music being blasted. The food also took a while to arrive. I am not sure if it is commonplace, but I don't remember having this experience previously. I would definitely say that as a business catering to people studying/having lunch it would be smarter to have a more relaxing ambience.
Sweet Lees used to be a magical place to go to with incredible sweets & warm inviting atmosphere & now its sterile & cold & the service is terrible & they reduced their portions.So sad that we lost a great place in Verdun.
Je me faisais un plaisir de retrouver cette place comme à chaque année lors de ma venue sur Montréal. & bien me voilà très nostalgique de l'ancien Sweet Lee's tant au niveau de la déco, de la nourriture ou des employés qui contribuaient à une ambiance chaleureuse, d'où mon 3 étoiles remplaçant le 5 d'avant. Les choix des boissons & leur qualité (le comptoir bar de gauche a disparu), ainsi que ceux de la nourriture, ont baissé à mon avis. Un changement de propriétaire m'a-t-on dit, l'ancien propriétaire semble donc être parti avec l'âme de cet endroit. Dommage😕. Il faut peut-être leur laisser du temps pour se réapproprier la chaleur du précédent Sweet Lee's Rustic Bakery, je leur souhaite...

Les yeux fermés venez chez Sweet Lee, tout est très bon & le personnel sympa.
Thanks to all comments, sadly to say quality is not the same since the renovations but also the owner changed & therefore all the changes, food quality & not to forget the prices... we will miss the real flavor & vibe of chef Lee!
Une révelation cette Boulangerie-Café; j'y suis allé avec mon Amie par hasard hier fin d'après-midi. Premièrement le Décor est magnifique....simple & chaleureux, moderne & classique à la fois...nous avions l'impression d'être dans un Café d'un Quartier Chic de Londres. L'accueil des employés était très sympatique & dynamique (ils semblent fiers d'y travailler -avec raison d'ailleurs-), la nourriture est exquise & la présentation raffinée. Quelle expérience, nous y retournerons encore & encore! "Vraiment la PERFECTION a un nom...La Boulagerie-Café SWEET LEE'S! PERFECTION has a name...SWEET LEE'S! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Me & my girlfriend were big fan of sweet Lee's & are absolutely shattered by the new decoration, where's the silver ceilings! The warm red walls, the plants & jars full of nice things, the cozy seating, the dark wood... It used to feel like a cozy little kitchen with so much personality ! Very disappointed by the bland redesign who stripped all identity from this peculiar place.
Our visit to Sweet Lee's was a mixed bag of emotion! The selection was good, but seems to have shrunken from before it renovation. The food quality (particularly the croissants) remained excellent. The atmosphere however seems to have lost some of its charm during the renovations, changing its rooted rustic theme into a more Instagram-able upscale vibe.
I love Verdun with its quirky little stores & restaurants. I also love the fact that it is much easier to find parking than in downtown Montreal - even when going to a place located at a prime location such as Sweet Lee's, right across the big church. The food is excellent, although it takes a long time to heat up certain items in their little toaster oven. They also make a really good Matcha Latte which is not easy to find. The atmosphere is urban cosy-chic, altogether a very pleasant experience.
Oh man, did Sweet Lee's change owners? The old decor was really unique & rustic, but now it looks like they've completely gutted it out & replaced it with a very "vanilla" decor. I'm going to miss the old bakery; it used to have so much character. Now it looks more like a generic cafe. I still enjoyed their croissants & coffee nonetheless, but it looks like their selection shrunk too. It's unfortunate.
I hate to write this review because the old Sweet Lee's was amazing in every aspect & totally deserved 5 stars, it was one of my go-to places, but after the new renovations this place just looks sad & just like every other cafe. I was shocked that the food quality dropped a noticeable amount. The new layout also seems crammed & not very well thought out, it's a shame to see the rustic vibe completely washed out. Also worse food & bakery selection....although the service was decent but that doesn't make up for the other issues. Sady I will no longer recommend this place, but I might give it one more chance.
Je suis dévastée par les rénovations récentes de sweet lee's. Ce café avait beaucoup de personnalité avec son plafond en étain & son esthétique vintage. Maintenant il est tout blanc & inoffensif, identique aux autres millions de cafés modernes. Quelle perte pour le quartier.
