Authentic Japanese restaurant at a reasonable price point.View more
A casual & family-friendly eatery in the south shore, one of our rotating restaurants for years. They offer an full array of authentic Japanese dishes ranged from the comforting udon katsu to the refined elegance of nigiri. In addition to an extensive list of Entrées from cold/fried/grilled/baked, the succulent Rimouski Uni & the flavorsome Alaska snow crab have lately made theirs ways to the chalkboard menu. Since the new owner/chef has taken over, the service has seen remarkable improvement & has even undergone a partial redecoration recently. At last, the awkward black leather tablecloths have been removed & those uncomfortable round chairs have been replaced. While the new owner's culinary skills are still evolving & have yet to match those of his predecessor, the food remains quite enjoyable & satisfying.View more
Hands down the best, most authentic Japanese fare in or around Montreal. The karaage in particular is so tender & juicy; 1000/10! The staff are also really lovely! We'll definitely be back to try some more of their delicious offerings!View more

Real authentic yet tasty type of Japanese sushi bar EVER.View more
Cozy sushi place & a hidden gem in the south shore. Authentic Japanese cuisine in a relaxed & quiet setting. Only negative which seems to have become a problem lately is the extremely slow service, as take-out orders are treated with the same priority as dine-in. Meaning if you just sat down & ordered at the restaurant, but they got a dozen or more orders by phone, you're waiting 1 to 2 hours for your order to be served. Something must change in that regards. But the food, the staff, the ambience are otherwise all excellent. Will always come back for more but I hope the speed aspect will be improved...View more
A well kept secret:
One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in the Montreal area. It takes some curiosity & a good deal of temerity to discover this gem of a sushi restaurant, buried in an anonymous parking lot of the Boulevard Rome. But the trip is highly rewarding! You find yourself in a true Japanese enclave in the South Bank. No wonder if, for prominent Japanese visitors, Montreal has two genuine sushi addresses, the outstanding but expensive Jun-I, & here. It is also my opinion. The all-Japanese ownership & cooks make sure that you will be served the freshest fish sashimi, & sushi offer the uncompromising Japanese taste & quality, that no other sushi bar in Montreal, else than Jun-I can match. Other Japanese dishes are of the same level.
Prices are reasonable, providing for a nonpareil value for money. Although simple, the decor & atmosphere are friendly & comfortable.
