Review Summary

Sushi Ste-Catherine offers an extensive all-you-can-eat menu with a wide variety of options ranging from sushi and sashimi to hot dishes like tempura and General Tao chicken. While many patrons praise the freshness of the ingredients, the rapid service provided through the digital ordering system, and the overall value for money, experiences remain inconsistent. Positive reviews often highlight the tasty food and accommodating staff, but several diners report issues with inconsistent food quality, occasional service delays, rude interactions with management, or confusion regarding billing and gratuities. The atmosphere is generally described as popular and lively, though it can become crowded during peak hours, and while some guests find it to be a reliable go-to spot in Montreal, others have encountered cleanliness concerns or a decline in quality over time.

This is one of those places where you go to eat sushi & drink diet Cokes until the mercury & aspartame melt your mind & you go a little crazy. It's not the best quality, or consistent, but the staff are quick & reasonable & the food is plentiful.

This is the best of the scuffed sushi places. Smoke a bunch & don't take it too seriously.

I would say that the service was good but the staff literally pressured me to give a big tip. When I said the truth of not having enough, she made me open my wallet & snatched a 5 dollar from it.

The sushis were really good! The freshness of the salmon & others topping with warm rice made me feel like homemade sushi! It's was delicious! The fried side dishes we ordered were really hot & fresh! Maybe have a fully charge phone since you've got to order from your smartphone !! Will definitely go back for AYCE

I really loved how easy reservations were to make on google, went in earlier & the lady said it was fine. We got to our places & ordered from the qr code provided on the table. So make sure your phone is charged!

Food was great, loved how tasty everything was. Sushi tasted great, was warm, fish was great.

Quite loud & not really intimate, wouldn't recommend for dates when seated in the middle.

We had to wait for about 45 minutes before we were seated, but that was understandable, we went there at 6 pm on a friday
Service was quick & excellent.
The food was good, the torched sushis were the best. It was my first time eating huge mussels, the wasabi one was the best.

I'll get straight to the point. First of all, the person who seems to be the manager was very passive agressive to the people he was serving. He does not seem like a kind person at all, which SHOULD be important for somebody who is suppose to be catering to his customers. Second of all, the food took a little bit too long than it should. I did not know that i should be waiting 10 minutes for a small beef skewer (that was way too tough to chew to by the way). Finally, the food. Overall, it was great! I just wished it was served faster. I LOOOOOVED the immitation scallops!!

Update Feb 2025:
Had to change from 5 stars to 4 stars:
There green salad ridiculously no more have tomato 🍅 or cucumber 🥒. Only some tasteless lattice.

After going almost every week, I've decided to try these other guys for all you can eat midi/lunch, as they are from the same chain (menu & prices).
Everything was OK, per my expectations. The same diverse menu to choose'all you can eat' from.
They do offer senior price.
I believe that that they open on noon time (even though google says 11:30 AM).
---
To be improved:
* the lunch scanned menu did not work (could not order from) when I came. I had to ask server help, who has'fixed' this (see below).
* apparently, the server opened the dinner menu WITHOUT DISCLOSING THIS TO ME, so I found myself, being unaware, ordering from the dinner menu.
* Later the manager on duty(?) came over, mentioning to me that I was ordering from the dinner menu. Instead of taking full responsibility for both above errors, he gave me a choice to either pay the dinner price, or to take the items off. No one has apologized for these error, which is problematic.
Moreover, there was another client without a phone, who was also offered the dinner menu (at around 12:30 PM) by the same manger on duty(?). I don't think that this is appropriate
* unlike ST. Dennis, the bill does not come with a candy.
If I could I would have given it 4.5 points, because of the above.

I'm looking forward to see what the business is going to do about this, now that I've publicly shared this.
