This location used to be Sushi St-Jean, which we really liked, so we were happy to see it become Sushi Hin & that the new restaurant is just as good.
Great selection of sushi, everything tasted fresh, & the service was fast. The prices are also very reasonable. A great spot & definitely worth a visit.
This used to be my favorite restaurant for all-you-can-eat sushi. Unfortunately, on my last two visits, the quality has declined. I went back Saturday night. I have to say that, for the second time in a row, the sushi was disappointing. The maki were poorly rolled & kept falling apart. They use way too much rice. You can tell sushi is pre-rolled when the tempura isn't crisp anymore. To be sure, I ordered a handroll, which can't be made in advance. My handroll was fresh. The nori seaweed was crispy, & so was the tempura, but there was really too much rice. One of the reasons I always go back to this restaurant is for the kitchen dishes. Yesterday, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The service is very fast, admittedly, but I prefer to wait a bit & be served hot. Some of our fried dishes were cold, like the fried scallops, takoyaki, & tempura. My favorite dish at Hin is the lamb skewers. Yesterday, they used too much seasoning, & the second portion I ordered underneath was burnt. I usually come on weekends. I find it's better during the week, perhaps because they're less busy & take the time to prepare orders properly. Overall, the service is always good. The servers always make sure our water glasses are refilled & consistently clear our plates. Hopefully they will improve the quality of the food back.
Absolutely amazing experience at Sushi Hin. The quality of the fish was top-tier-fresh, well-cut, & full of flavor. The all-you-can-eat menu has great variety & everything came out fast & consistent, even when the place was busy.
Service was attentive & professional, & the staff made sure we were always taken care of. The tuna tataki & sashimi were standout items, easily some of the best I've had. For the price, you really get your money's worth.
Food wasnt great this time, sushi rolls were sticky.. chewy like a gum.. & food in general didnt feel fresh.. but the sashimi & crevettes were good as usual i guess. Service was like street food service not very elegant.. I dont know maybe it is bad to come to one place very frequently as you become so familiar to the place which makes the welcoming, the service, the food, & the atmosphere below normal, it just become😏..
This was our first visit, & unfortunately it was extremely disappointing.
We arrived at 8:00 PM & placed our first order shortly after. By 9:00 PM, we still had not received all the items from that first order. We placed a second order around 8:30 PM, & by 9:15 PM, we were still missing items from both orders.
Around that same time, a waiter informed us that last call was at 9:30 PM, so we ordered dessert & asked for our bill. We received the bill within one minute, but never received our desserts at all.
Despite asking two different waiters about our missing items, nothing ever arrived. At that point, we were already frustrated & unsatisfied, so we paid & left.
We ended up paying around $55 (taxes & tip included) for an awful experience. The service was extremely slow, the staff was dismissive, & the food was not fresh. Overall, this was not worth the price, & we will not be returning.
I hit up Sushi Hin on Blvd St Jean in Montreal on New Year's Day & it was LITERAL FOODGOODNESS 🍣🔥! The buffet was INSANE - like, I saw EVERYTHING I love in one place. Fresh sushi, crazy rolls, hot dishes... mind blown 🤯. Service was on point too. If you're in MTL, GET. THERE. 😋 10/10 would stuff myself again.
One of the Best Sushi in Montreal for sure! The owner is so nice he even treated us to a free beer for me & my wife. :)
They change the name of this sushi restaurant from sushi St. Jean to sushi hi. & the food is still trash. Do not order any of the cooked salmon rolls , it taste like dried out canned salmon. They may give you extra of some things but it's more than likely something they want to get rid of . The food was very disappointing just not fresh.
5 ⭐ Super FRESH n DELICIOUS! Mr. Ming (the new owner) takes pride in giving great quality food n professional service. I will tell ALL my Sushi lovers to visit your restaurant. Thank you for a beautiful lunch. I wish you the fullest of success. See you soon Sky
Not impressed at all. Hadn't been there since its previous name sushi st Jean & didn't love it then but decided to try again. Food was not fresh, rice was chewy, nothing impressive in the flavour, & the shrimp tempura was not even crispy. Service was lacking, we waited a while to get our water filled & more napkins. No one really checked in to see how our meal was or if we needed anything. We were also sat by the door on a very cold day when there were clearly other seats available, so we were cold the whole time.
The 3 other all you can eat places in the West Island are all MUCH better.
