Every year, I have seen their portions get smaller & smaller. The pita sandwich is a nice portion. Good food but if you're hungry, I don't recommend. I used to be a regular. Now, maybe twice a year.
Stumbled upon this place & stopped in for lunch. Super delicious flavours & fresh, high quality food. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!
Bonsoir,
Have eaten in & taken out. Would recommend dining on site only. Great flavours, honestly can't get enough - & that's precisely the problem. Portion sizes for take out are almost criminal for the prices you pay.
From the moment we entered the place everything was an experience, they gave us a number & told us we could choose & then go straight to the checkout. The cashier was completely friendly, she recommended some drinks & advised us well with the food, the waitresses were very friendly, one of them even returned one of the dishes without having asked for it, just because of the presentation, what a detail. Clean bathroom, clean place, large tables, place 10 out of 10 to return again. The plate where the food comes is a little small which makes it difficult to eat easily, the portions are BIG & worth the price
Sat in for dinner tonight for the first time & the food was just incredible! Shared the chicken shawarma plate & the falafel plate & sumac fries with 2 adults & 2 kids. Highly recommend! I wish I could repeat the meal tomorrow.
Excellent experience. Freshest of foods, exceptional serivice & house made fruit juices. Really recommend this restaurant.
I've had Sumac many times before & never felt compelled to leave a review but today was just an A1 experience. Every element in the falafel pita was individually well-seasoned & flavorful & fresh. Service was super friendly & place was clean. I highly recommend
We ordered a large catering order during the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend. When we arrived to pick up the food everything was ready on time & the staff helped me carry the large order to my car. The food was OUTSTANDING. Some of the best greek/Mediterranean food our group has ever had. 10/10 Service 10/10 Food Highly recommend Sumac!
Honestly, this place never disappoints. Even for pick up our orders are consistently delicious! One of our favorites in Montreal. Highly recommend if you haven't been yet!
One of the best Arab Mediterranean (Lebanese?) places I've ever dined at, period! The salads were all fantastic. I particularly loved the falafel & the sabich platters. The Muhammara was up there with the best-rich & nutty! Quantities are generous. Generally par for the cost.. highly recommend!
I love the food here. It's CONSISTENTLY on point. It's a relaxed vibe, & it can fill up fast but it's worth it! I recommend getting the: -labneh -kefta -falafel *the hot sauce is soo good, don't pass on it. Plus they have a North East IPA on tap. Enjoy!
One of my favourite restaurants in montreal!! The falafel is perfect, not dry & very flavourful. I also love the sumac fries. I always get the falafel plate & it’s enough for two people. The restaurant can get loud around dinner times but it’s still very nice. I highly recommend this place & I always bring people here to eat when they visit montreal.
Won't be back unless things improve.
Love middle eastern food, & kept seeing this one recommended.
Had late lunch (2pm) on a Friday afternoon. Serious problem with acoustics. Although the restaurant was nearly empty, the noise level was deafening. Every conversation + music echoing & reverbing off the high bare walls.
Service was less than stellar. Although the restaurant was empty, the server refused to turn down the music & seemed completely unconcerned that the noise level was too high. Having to order at the counter was a bit weird, given that there were lots of servers. A different server offered us hot sauce, which we both accepted, but forgot to come back with it until we were finished eating.
I quite liked the food, especially the walnut puree thing. The kefta was good, the hummous very creamy, & the cooked salad was rich. Though pricey if you're used to Boustan, Amir, or Basha, everything was tasty.
It seems to have potential, good food, good location, fresh airy decor, but the execution is off. Must do something with the acoustics. & the sourpuss servers.
Think I'll just go back to Boustan for now.
