A wonderful place to spend time with family or friends. The food is delicious, & the setting is beautiful - it feels like stepping into another century.
We arrived around noon & didn't realize that at that time only the full meal is usually served. We were just hoping to have coffee with something sweet. The place was very busy & the staff were clearly occupied, but we really appreciated that they still took the time to welcome us, seat us, & even prepare coffee & pancakes just for us.
It felt very cozy & truly authentic. We had a lovely experience & would definitely come back.
Most authentic Cabane experience! Loved the atmosphere & food, live music was great. Only thing missing for me was pudding chomeur on the menu. But the hot meal was the best I've ever had at a sugar shack in Quebec.
Food was disappointing. I'm 99% sure the mashed potatoes were instant powder, the eggs were barely edible, & there were no little maple sausages or oreilles de crisse.
That said, the biggest issue isn't just the food, it's the price. We paid $280 for four people, which is honestly ridiculous considering what was served. It felt like the total cost of the food on the table couldn't have been more than $20.
At that price point, you expect quality & authenticity. Unfortunately, this felt more like a very expensive, very underwhelming breakfast.
Sucrerie de la Montagne serves the most delicious traditional sugaring-off meals I have ever had. The dining room was filled with lively music, & the musicians were fully engaged with the diners, especially the children. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were friendly, & the entire place felt wonderfully authentic. Truly a delightful experience.
Authentic sugar shack (cabane à sucre) with great people, tasty food, folk music, & nice place to visit. It is my second time there! The food & maple syrup are amazing! I suggest to go early morning since it is less crowded. One of my favorite sugar shack! Feels like the ones I was going when I was a kid. It is worth the distance from Montreal since most around Montreal are too commercial.

I will start off by saying the location & ambiance is gorgeous! The perfect Cabane a sucre to obtain gorgeous photos & experience an authentic vibe. Unfortunately the process of getting to your reservation table is extremely unpleasant. We had to stand in line for tickets which took 15 minutes or so, then proceeded to have to stand in line again to give our tickets which took an additional 15 minutes. The staff helping us during this process were extremely rude & unpleasant, 2 guests of our reservation of 12 didn't arrive at the exact same time as us & they almost wouldn't seat us because they were a few minutes late. The establishment needs signage so guests know where to go, we were shooed off multiple times because we weren't in the right areas when trying to allow our children use the rest rooms. FYI don't bring a stroller, because you can't bring it inside, wish we were told when we got on the horse carriage before having to leave it outside in the rain. Luckily, our server was great, but the portion sizes were TINY for our group size, this needs to be adjusted, the bowls didn't even make it around the table before it was empty & we were needing to ask for more, which left other items getting cold. The food is ok, as previously posted, the potatoes are from a box. Otherwise everything else was good. We do wish a server came to our table & ask if we wanted to buy drinks because no one ever came. In all, this Cabane a sucre is extremely over priced, by ALOT. 60$ per adult for what we got is outrageous. 40$ would been more than enough. More seating outside would be appreciated also.
We were here in January. It looks like a small village in a winter wonderland. The restaurant was lovely & authentic. We have had the all you can eat traditional menu & it was of high quality & tasty. Since it was off season we were the only guests. The founder & owner took time to show us the bakery, & Maple Sirup manufacturing machine. Maple Sirup is produced in a traditional & sustainable way. Unfortunately we had already booked our connection flight - otherwise we would have considered to spend a night in the lovely guesthouses.
