About

Sucrerie de la Montagne operates as a traditional sugar shack focused on authentic maple production and rustic Quebecois cuisine. This establishment emphasizes heritage culinary practices, featuring signature dishes like pea soup, meat pies, and thick crusty bread served alongside farm-style staples. Guests consume meals at long communal wooden tables within a timber-frame structure that reflects the rustic architecture of pioneer settlements. The production process centers on the wood-fired evaporation of sap collected from the surrounding maple grove into pure syrup. Visitors observe the transformation of syrup into maple taffy on snow, a central activity during the harvest season. The surrounding forest landscape provides a natural backdrop for the agrarian-focused menu that prioritizes local ingredients and historical preparation techniques over modern culinary innovations.

I celebrated my niece's college graduation at Sucrerie de la Montagne. We hired an event planner Omega Design Events. I was so lucky they had availability given that I sort of booked last minute. Maurice was very patient & accommodating & then Sophia took over as my point person & she was just as awesome! The back & forth communication is the kind everyone wants & appreciates when having an event to make sure all the details are just right. Sophia even sent me a picture of the final set up the night before, which I was truly grateful for. I showed up with my table runners & centerpieces the day of & did nothing else because the staff at Sucrerie de la Montagne had the rest handled. I did arrange for a balloon backdrop to be delivered & set up, which again, Sophia accommodated & left room for because we had previously discussed it.

My guests kept complementing my choice of venue. It was chill (the vibe my niece wanted) but still elegant (what I wanted). I would, & plan to, absolutely host another event here, no question about it! Thank you again to Maurice & Sophia, & the rest of the staff of Sucrerie de la Montagne, for making my niece's day so special & the planning process so easy for me!

I had a great experience. I would love to go again. What a great place to explore, & I met the man who built the village 😄 I recommend this place

A hidden gem!! Excellent food quality, you get to enjoy the different traditional dishes in an authentic rustic cabin in the middle of the maple farm. Recommend going during winter in the weekend to enjoy the live music.

Our family had lunch here & ordered from the Trail Menu (Ready-to-Eat). We were relieved this was an option because the website made it seem like the feast was the only menu option. The atmosphere is cozy, quaint, & reminiscent of having a meal in a log cabin in the woods! The restaurant owner (who explained his father started the business) served our table at one point & was polite, hospitable, & welcoming. It was a memorable stop in our vacation & a must-visit location!

It's definitely an amazing experience. To start we got a horse drawn carriage to the Sugar Shack which was amazing. Then we got a tour from the owner of how they make maple syrup. We also got a tour of the bakery where they stone fire bread. It was really cool. Then it was time for dinner. The food was actually very good but unfortunately there just wasn't enough of it. I will admit we came with a big group but they looked short staffed. The live music was great & so was the'spoons'. You need to do it. The violinist was great. He made sure to interact with guests & make it a fun experience. Then came the maple taffy on snow (ice because of summer season). It was great. A highly recommended getting the maple candies they are quite good.
