Beat polish restaurant in montreal. Live piano during the night great food & a great atmosphere. Staff are great also. Will definitely be coming back. The pierogis were as good as my grandma's

Our favorite Polish restaurant on either side of the border. We discovered this delicious place on an anniversary trip in 2016 to see Patrick Watson in concert. Have been talking about Stash Cafe food since. Finally returned this weekend for my birthday dinner. Love, love, love the food & atmosphere. I highly recommend anything on the menu, but especially the mushroom pierogi. We also enjoyed the live piano music in the background.
It was my first time having Polish food at a restaurant. Surprisingly it was very delicious--who knew simple food like Perogies could be packed with flavor? Atmosphere & service were excellent as well. I'll be back.
You write that you are a restaurant of Polish cuisine. I chose between Borscht & Zhurek, I chose Zhurek (because I can cook Borscht myself). What can I say about your Zhurek - people, don't be lazy & don't deceive others, because it's not Zhurek, but just coloured water with sausages. & where are the eggs & mushrooms? Some even serve it with mashed potatoes (it's a bomb!). The Poles treated me to Zhurek & I was delighted. & many people know that Polish cuisine is quite hearty, saturated with mega large portions. It's scary to imagine, but at the same time it's interesting, what kind of Ukrainian Borscht do you have? I also ordered dumplings (Pierogi), mix. I must note that the dumplings (Pierogi) were delicious.

Easily the best meal we had during our visit to Montreal, I would come back to the city just for the ogorkowa soup. It's hard to find good Polish food & this was top tier!

I have dîned here multiple times. Celebrated my birthday here. My best expérience with Polish food. I love their pierogis & their deer cutlet dish. Highly recommended !
I am smitten with this place! I fell in love first time I saw it. Everything about this place is splendid: the decor, the art, the lighting, the staff & of course, the amazing Polish food!!! Rien que d'y penser, j'en ai l'eau à la bouche 😄
The food, atmosphere & service are amazing. Our server spoke Polish & was from Warsaw so we could communicate in English, French or Polish. The food has to be from someone's Babcia, it was that good!
I wish I could lower every rating I've ever given so that this could be the only 5 star review because it deserves to be at the top. The best Polish food I have ever had by far, from the juiciest Kielbasa to the most flavorful sauerkraut to the best dumpling texture & flavor. Nothing at this place disappoints. The red lighting ambience, the service, & the live piano only adds to this amazing experience. I would & probably will drive back to Montreal from Boston solely for another visit to Stash.

An old favorite Old Montreal restaurant of mine back in the day is still there & apparently as popular as ever - full house for lunch on Friday December 29. Quick & friendly service, reasonable prices & great, varied & genuine Polish fare. & the decor is super cozy, esconsed in a 1800s building with thick stone walls & wood beams. Highly Recommend.
What a lovely restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. I love the live music & the decoration. They have amazing beers & tasty cocktails to choose. Their Polish food is very delicious. Not 100% authentic but still very delicious. I highly recommend!
Absolutely fabulous. While perusing the menu posted outside, my wife, who does not share my Polish heritge, remarked, "There's nothing that appeals to me..." I persuaded her to indulge me. The next evening, I asked her where she wanted to dine. She replied, "Let's go back to Stash Cafe." Bigos & the herring in cream sauce were exquisite!
Great place. Our roots are polish. We absolutely loved that we were able to talk in polish with the server. Dishes are authentic & definitely tasted like from my childhood. Thank you for the amazing experience, Stash!
