The perfect lazy woman's schmear is a warm St-Viateur bagel dipped in smoked salmon spread. Take it from me, who was shown the way & the light by a Montreal local.
Big debate whether St-Viateur Bagels beat Fairmount ones. My heart is with Fairmount, but these are amazing nonetheless
come in to try the famous bagels, still very reasonably priced. so tasty they can be eaten alone without any toppings or spreads!
Came in 30 minutes before close & they gave us 2 bagels on the house & they're delicious thank you so much !
Awesome bagel experience, it's very different & worth the place for eating bagels. It has queue always, but worth it. Spicy bagel is okish ,but everything bagel was very good.
I wish I could rate this place higher. The service was incredible, everyone was so kind & patient. They helped us choose the best bagels. The prices were decent & they had a good selection of flavours. I highly reccomend buying some cream cheese to go with your bagels. However, I was dissapointed by the texture of the bagels. They were not warm & it was difficult to chew. Still pretty good but wish it was softer.
Went with a few friends last weekend & honestly St-Viateur Bagel did not disappoint - we got there around 10am & watched them pull fresh sesame bagels straight out of the wood-fired oven, which was such a cool thing to see. The bagels are the real deal, chewy & slightly crispy on the outside, nothing like what you get at a grocery store. We grabbed a bunch to take back to the Airbnb with some cream cheese & smoked salmon & it turned into the best lazy brunch we've had in a long time. If you're in Montreal & skip this place you're genuinely doing yourself a disservice.
