Managed to sneak in before the rush on a Saturday morning. It's a busy place, but the staff is super helpful for pointing you in the right direction (one counter is for just bagels, the other is for sandwiches, coffee, etc). The bagels are completely worth the hype, & they make some great breakfast sandwiches too. Worth stopping by!

Absolutely loved my experience here! The bagels are what breakfast dreams are made of - fresh, soft bread that's clearly made with care. But what really elevated it was the cheese spread - it perfectly complemented the bagel's flavor without overpowering it. You can tell they pay attention to quality ingredients & flavor balance. This is definitely my new go-to spot for bagels. Highly recommend giving them a try!
I stopped by St-Viateur Bagel for breakfast & went straight for their popular smoked salmon on a sesame bagel- & it was the perfect introduction to why this place is so beloved in Montreal.
The sesame bagel came warm & fresh from the wood-fired oven, with that unmistakable Montreal-style texture: slightly crisp on the outside, soft & chewy inside, & just a hint of sweetness. It paired beautifully with the smoked salmon, which was rich, flavorful, & balanced nicely by the cream cheese & traditional toppings capers & onion.
What I loved most was the simplicity done right. No frills, no over-complication- just incredibly fresh, well-crafted ingredients that speak for themselves. The staff was friendly, service was quick, & despite the constant stream of customers, everything felt smooth & welcoming.
If you're visiting Montreal or just craving a top-tier bagel breakfast, the smoked salmon on a sesame bagel at St-Viateur is a must-try. It's a classic for a reason, & I'd absolutely come back for another.
Had to get an authentic Montreal bagel & this was perfect. Lots of other places in town actually sell bagels from here, which i noticed in subsequent breakfast/brunch locations. If you love bagels, this is a must visit while you are in Montreal.

There is a slight wait time to enter & be able to order if you wish to dine in. Should be considered when going as it could take long depending on your groups size.
The food tasted great. There was a slight mistake in my order but they quickly recovered & remedied the situation. Other than that the foods amazing & worth going for!
During my trips to Montreal I always make sure to stop here either for a dine in or take out of Montreals best bagel shop. Their breakfast combo is always up to par as the best most tasty breakfast bagel experience. & nothing beats a Montreal style bagel in the morning with a Americano coffee
Must try breakfast if you're in Montreal! They have a huge variety on bagels, lots of combinations, & everything is super fresh. We tried a few different types, really depends on what you prefer, but can't go wrong with anything here. Try out the maple bagel with jam😮💨👌The line moved fast, & service was very attentive, making sure we got a good table, cleaning it for us, bringing our food/drinks, & asking how it was.
We went out of our way to get these bagels on our last day in Montreal. We ordered 4 sandwiches for takeout. The breakfast sandwiches were supposed to substitute the meat for cream cheese. Both were missing this & just came with dry bagels instead & the fried eggs had no seasoning. The bagels overall were tough & chewy even though we ate them within half hour of purchasing them. Not worth the hype or the lineup outside.
