Had the duck breast tsukemen, Japanese beef katsu. Overall seems pretty standard for a ramenya or katsu place, the gyukatsu had trouble staying together with the panko flaking off, but the dipping sauces were at least matching with the food, but nothing spectacular.
The duck breast tsukemen was also not too out of the ordinary, the duck breast was cooked very well, however the rest of the tsukemen was average at best. The noodles were on the overcooked side & the dipping broth was marginally saltier than what you'd expect from a normal ramen broth, making it hardly giving more flavor to the ramen or duck breast.
Overall while there wasn't anything really done wrong with the food, nothing really stood out either, for the price it's a little too pricey for the food, but overall okay.View more
First time visiting through the good reviews.
location = spacious & good ambiance
service = our waiter friendly & quick
drinks = my amaretto sour can be better, sour but not sweet enough
food = everything we ordered. delicious
what we ordered:
-Crudo; plate of raw salmon, avocado, ikura caviar with yuzu dressing
-mazemen, ramen without broth, protein we chose; pork Chashu
-japanese creamy carbonara udon noodles with shrimp tempura
-mangoe salad with grilled chicken (yummmyyy!)
-Oh La La rice paper sushi rolls
salmon with shrimp tempura i believe.. definitely recommend!
will I go back? YES!View more
🌸 5 stars! 🌸
We had the Japanese-Style Grilled Duck Breast Yaki Udon, & it was absolutely delicious, rich, savory, & perfectly balanced. The duck was tender & flavorful, & the whole dish came together beautifully.
The Sakura cocktails were a lovely pairing refreshing, floral, & visually stunning.
The ambiance was cozy yet modern, with a relaxed atmosphere that made the experience feel special. The service was warm, attentive, & made us feel very welcomed.
Highly recommend this spot for a nice night out or a cozy ramen date.View more
My husband & I celebrated our 39th Anniversary at Shushuto Bar & Ramen Plus Tapas.
Our Server Ben was exceptionally accommodating. The Food is Delicious & generous portion. We ordered the salad mango with grilled chicken,Japanese Steak Katsu for Appetizers ,followed with Sashimi Platter Salmon & avocado,& Japanese pancake Rose-Berries dessert & Affogato Baileys & cappuccino to end our dining experience.
It's the Best Japanese Restaurant we ever trie
& Oh. Ben gifted us a slice of cheesecake
Thanks Ben !!View more
5/5 stars! Shushuto Ramen is an absolute gem! I'm still shocked they don't have a location in Toronto - it's a travesty! The food, however, speaks for itself. The Carbonara cheese udon with Fried sirloin Steak is a game-changer, & the Miso Sesame Udon with duck breast is pure perfection. But the real pièce de résistance is saving the best for last: the Green Matcha Soufflé Pancake. It's the ideal ending to an already incredible meal.View more
Let me start off by saying our server Ben, was fantastic. He really made the experience by knowing the menu & being attentive.
The drinks here are delicious & worth the price.
The food on the other hand, left room for improvement. I got the miso ramen with chicken & my partner got Oyster Bao & Inari sushi. The chicken in my ramen was cooked & seasoned perfectly, but the rest of the ramen dish could have used more flavour. My partner said her Bao bun was a bit dry & the oyster mushroom was a bit over powering in flavor.
Will we come back, maybe, but if we did it would probably only be for a drink & the wonderful service of Ben.View more
Very nice location, interesting ramen choices, definitely worth tryingView more
Truly authentic Japanese ramen🍜 The broth is so exquisitely done! Delightful flavours all around. Impeccable service! Great vibe!
The bartender is so talented & skillful. Wide selections of nice cocktails & creative drinks🍸Highly recommend this fun & yummy place to all the food enthusiasts!View more
Food was awesome but the service was very slow. They took like 15min just to bring a bottle of wine. They also mixed all the bills & it took some time to fix them all. I'd definitely come back (the duck ramen is just awesome), but service should be improved.View more
3.5 stars all for the carbonara udon (which is the same noodle as the ramen?)
The dipping ramen was just salty water , cold noodles & boiled pork. 1/5
Service is weird. Homie waiters were just chatting right behind me & looking at my phone screen as I type. Not greatView more
Incredible classic tonkotsu ramen! I'm a big ramen lover & this must be the best I tried so far in Montreal.View more
Duck Ramen & traditional chicken ramen were 10/10. Cocktails were good as well. My new fav Ramen spot in Montreal.View more
Went here twice already & never disappoinnt! The only ramen place that gives generous slices of meat, & the mezamen was tasty! Fast & kind service as well. Great vibes for datesView more
They do have a nice vegan menu ; mushroom bao was pretty good ! The vegan ramen was a bit boring. No protein, it came with bamboo roots, mushrooms & aragula. The broth was good & spicy tho. It is a nice place & room !View more
I think this restaurant is slightly overhyped on social media. We ordered the ramen & miso tsukemen (dipping noodles) & we found it really salty. The sushi & crudo was also underwhelming & didn't have much flavour.
The restaurant decor & atmosphere were cool, but the food wasn't memorable.View more
View more
We had an absolutely amazing experience here. The ramen was some of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere & service was impeccable. We also asked to be seated at the bar after our meal in which they cleared a spot with no hesitation. The servers were so warm & helpful providing an amazing experience & offering recommendations while visiting Montreal. We will be adding this to our list of must visits while in the city.View more
Service was slow. At least the chashu was good. Didn't like the miso ramen overall though - noodles were too soggy for my liking.View more
We had a great evening at Shushuto with friends. The food was amazing (we started with fried chicken, edamame & scallops, had a bunch of delicious cocktails & ramen). Don't know what was better the food or the service (thanks Charles!). Definitely a place you want to hit up for date night or a night out with friends. Make sure to reserve because the place gets busy!View more
Drinks were perfect & so tasteful. I took a mocktail Sayonara Summer & my partner took the Tokyo sour. We do recommend both! Best karaage I tasted in mtl so far, so tender & juicy just miam. We also took the beef tapas which was as good as the karaage. It was a first trying the seasonal beef soup & I did enjoy it but next time I'll give a try to the cheese ramen. Will come back for sure. Thank you to the amazing service from all the servers ❤️View more
Service wasn't great. The ramen noodle it's self was good but the rest of the soup wasn't, my chicken was cold & didn't taste right. However, good sushi, & good cocktails.View more
I ordered the TSUKEMEN AU MISO RICHE with the understanding that I would get to have a hot soup to drink. Instead, I was presented with a deconstructed ramen where I had to dip the noodles & steak into the broth. The broth was wayyy too salty to drink on its own, which I found to be disappointing. I would have loved to have been able to drink the soup on a cold winter evening. Apart from that, the service, sushi & drinks were divine. I would recommend this restaurant & would consider eating there again!View more
View more
Le ramen était très bon, le personnel accueillant. J'ai pas vraiment vu les tapas sur la carte en revancheView more
Delicieuse nourriture, on a vraiment bien mangé. Le poulet karaage & les ramen , excellentsView more
It's a great place! We had the kaarage chicken, Gyoza & sushi as entrée & it was really good! The ramen was amazing! We will definitely go there again!View more
