Update: Shushu Haru's dedicated dining room has closed. The menu is now available only though Shushuto nextdoor.
We tried some of our favourites from the original menu, like the Blossom sushi roll & coconut panna cotta, but the recipes have unfortunately changed.
I was very disappointed with the hard strawberry panna cotta.

This has become one of my new favourite restaurants. The sushi was absolutely incredible. The restaurant is well-decorated, & the location is very conveniently located right next to the canal.
The weird thing is that we came for lunch on a Saturday, & the place was surprisingly empty. It's also a bit pricey, but totally worth it.
Delicious vegan sushi!!! All items we ordered were fabulous. My favourites: Blossom rolls & the Gyoza but really everything tasted fresh & wonderful. Service was attentive & friendly :) Highly recommend!
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner date at this place as it has a good cozy vibe. Overall our experience was fantastic! We ordered variety of dishes. Being vegetarian it is difficult to find good Asian dishes in Montreal. We are Sushi & Ramen lovers. We ordered spring rolls with peanut butter sauce & it was the creamy sauce was utterly delicious. Secondly, Kokomaro Futomaki sushi! This is the best Sushi in Montreal I have eaten so far. Additionally we also ordered Udon noodles but this we felt the sauce was a bit salty & wasn't upto the mark. I have eaten better Udon noodles before this. However, presentation was good overall. Lastly, the ultimate Panna Cotta dessert with a blend of strawberry & coconut was very delightful!
First time here & the food & drinks did not disappoint!!! They were all so good & every roll that we ordered was unique in flavor & texture! I really have nothing bad to say. The server was very helpful & kind as well. I would definitely come back here again & recommend to others! My favorite rolls were Geisha, Samurai, & Bloom but honestly, everything was delicious & quality made! I'm excited to come back to try more rolls!
It was a lovely experience, went there with friends for lunch. The food was delicious, service excellent & had a cozy comfortable vibe. I especially like the presentation of the plates, & the value per price. Just right. I definitely recommend Shushu Haru, even if one is not vegan. It's worth the experience. Ps: I recommend the Samurai roll & Everest roll.
I really wanted to like this place. I don't like leaving bad reviews to vegan restaurants. Unfortunately, it just hasn't been a good experience. The first time we came, the sushis were falling apart. Service was excellent but the food not so much. We tried again today. They are changing the menu & it's not great. You have 3 options of a variety of things, like a package meal with entree, etc. I wanted to eat regular sushis, but 6 rolls is 15$!!!!!!. The food took 1 hour to arrive. Some things were cold & even then some things were still missing. We were given chips after I complained about waiting time. The food didn't hit the spot & we left unsatisfied. 2 meals & one extra roll of 6 sushi came back to 120$. I was expecting a deduction after making us wait one hour for our meal but no. They said they were short-staffed because of holidays but only another table was there. If its going to take that long best to warn your clients beforehand. We would've left. Highly disappointed.
Truly, I am at a loss of words. So many vegan sushi places have been such a disappointment. I guess I'm a foodie with very high standards. This is the ABSOLUTE best sushi ever! Vegan or not, you will love it. I promise! Your only regret will be that you didn't come sooner!
I highly recommend the Mushroom bao Buns, the dumplings, the tempura (to die for!), the 3 Mushroom sushi, the Ete (44), the simple sweet potato roll, the Avocado roll. Basically, EVERYTHING we got was impossibly good!
Good atmosphere & nice staff. Food was good too. I wish there were more gluten-free options, but the ones I got were very good. The 514 & blossom rolls were good. The mango sticky rice was disappointing as the mango was severely under ripe & crunchy instead of sweet & soft.
