We paid around $200 but the overall experience did not justify the price.

The food was underwhelming. The'chef special' spicy broth was particularly disappointing - it tasted like diluted Korean soybean paste with little depth or seasoning. As for the meat, only the wagyu was decent; the rest of the beef cuts were not enjoyable.

One health concern: the egg served for sukiyaki was not pasteurized. When I asked, the server confirmed it was a regular raw egg & said'everyone eats it this way.' However, in Canada, eggs are not generally considered safe for raw consumption, unlike in Japan where handling standards differ. A clearer notice or pasteurized option would be more appropriate.

Dessert (matcha mochi with red bean filling) tasted good, but the texture was odd - warm outside & cold inside. Feels like they just took out of the fridge & didn't cook it through..

Overall, the experience felt average at best, but priced at a premium. Not worth it & will NOT come back. There are so many other nice places in montreal, skip this one.

Fantastic service that was attentive & speedy. The spicy broth really hit the spot. There is plenty of food for each set. I got the premium beef set & it was really yummy. Wish there was a bit more meat but I came away stuffed (there was a lot of veggies, & it came with a bowl of rice & noodles). The sesame sauce was also really yummy. The ponzu sauce was a bit too salty.

Dessert was an alfogato with chocolate ice cream. The ice cream tasted like cheap ice cream but it was elevated by the espresso.

My boyfriend & I's go-to place for Japanese hot pot ! The portions are good despite the recent price increase. The dessert is included with your meal combo, which is a plus. They usually offer ice cream, mochi ice cream or affogato as dessert options, which vary day to day. The only negative point is the saltiness of the broth; it makes us super thirsty after our meal every time. Nonetheless, I recommend this place for a cozy meal during the colder months of the year !

Had the combo for 2. Spicy broth is good as soup personally Sukiyaki for who likes sweetness The dessert today were delicious! The cake within mashed red beans is yummy. Matcha ice cream doesn't have a strong taste of milk & it's a little bitter combined with sweet which is tasty

Overall, quite pricey for the quality of food & service. Every plate of vegetable & rice is clearly prepared well in advance (the rice was quite dry, obviously not fresh, by the time we received it for example). It took well over 30 minutes for our order to be taken, & another 40 for food plates to arrive. Entrees & drinks were served last. My disappointment over the experience stems from their inability to cater to dietary requirements. I do not have particularly difficult ones to accommodate - I am lactose intolerant & have to avoid tofu for health concerns. Each meal comes with a plate of rice cakes & tofu. I asked to please not waste food & not to bring me the tofu since I won't be able to eat it, but if at all possible would like more rice cake to compensate. I was brought the tofu plate, being told substitutions were not possible (which is fair... but I still can't safely have tofu, & no other solution was offered). Then came dessert which was included. My options were a scoop of Oreo ice cream, or espresso with vanilla ice cream. Other menus had melon for dessert so I asked if I could possibly have that instead seeing as I am lactose intolerant, as they were told... I was replied "no". For a restaurant which has, on its menu, "please inform us of any food allergies or dietary requirements & we will be happy to accommodate you", it fell quite short of the mark.
