Welcome to Shabu Shabu Kagayaki in the popular Montreal's Chinatown district. Here you will discover a traditional Japanese specialty known has Shabu Shabu The origins of Shabu Shabu cooking date back many years, where families gathered around a large hot pot for their evening meal. Shabu Shabu means splash-splash. The customers receive thin slices of raw meat and vegetables, which they cook quickly in a pot of boiling water. These are dipped in a sesame sauce or ponzu sauce (soy based sauce). After the meal, the remaining broth is used as a soup for noodle or rice. Today, the freshest meat and seafood available, delicious Japanese sauces and a bowl of rice is all that's needed for a classic Shabu Shabu meal and Kagayaki is the place to experience what Shabu Shabu is all about. Along with great food, Kagayaki offers a great friendly atmosphere, traditional decor and great fun whether you are with a group of friends, family or in couple. I used to go to Kagayaki 10 or so years ago & it was great, especially for the price back then. I went back last night & the price have literally doubled (the nagano pork used to be 15$ & now it's 33$), but it's the same food... I know inflation is crazy but it was not worth a 50$ bill (including taxes & tip). The service was very good! Jusy not worth the price 😅

They offer gluten free options. Best hot pot I tried so far, it can be pricey but the portions are big so you can share it & still be full, or take away the remaining.

The food was delicious, lots of options & you can mix the sauces, broth or spices for unique flavors. The servers checked in often & were a delight. Recommend the combo dishes as they have lots of different items to enjoy

Nous avons passé un excellent moment dans ce restaurant. La nourriture est EXCELLENTE & nous nous sommes régalés avec la formule à partager à deux. Le bouillon est bon, la viande est excellente, les légumes sont bons & la sauce à la cacahuète, un délice. Le service est sympathique & le restaurant chaleureux. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

Prices are rising & everything is super expensive. If you eat a self-service hot pot, you have to cook it by yourself. It's better to go to an all-you-can-eat restaurant with service.

Came in for some Japanese fondue on a rainy day which turned out to be just the.right choice. The classic combo gives you a good & balanced amount of delicious food. The atmosphere & setup are great. Service was impeccable. We had a great dining experience.

We had a great experience here! The food was amazing & the quality was on par with my experiences in Asia. The spicy broth & tofu were excellent. Our server was wonderful about walking us through the process. He was attentive, & gave us other great local recommendations.

The food was awesome, especially the wagyu. I have been eaten wagyu in many places. This restaurant's wagyu were very fresh & well prepared. Both my son & I loved it. The servers were really nice & kind to us as well! Will definitely come back for it!

Very friendly & attentive staff! Food was great & the ambience was nice. Took off one star because the food was a bit pricey for what you get. $80 gets you a set of food. It looks like a lot but isnt that much when you consider they give you half a cabbage that takes a lot of space.

L'un de mes restaurant préféré! La concept est original, les fondues proposées sont délicieuses & les portions largement suffisantes! On en a pour notre argent sans aucun problème. Le service est amical & très bon, le seul petit bémol est la décoration somme toute assez quelconque. Il manque ce petit plus qui donnerait à ce restaurant une personnalité unique...
