After a shopping trip, I wanted some takoyakis & my researchs got me there. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be for a Saturday pm but everything was amazing! The food was good, hot & fresh. The service was phenomenal! They always made sure my glass of water was filled & if everything was good or if I needed anything. I couldn't finish the whole plate that I took an extra of but they packed it up for me to go. I really recommend this place! Good food, nice staff & cozy restaurant!
Only issue was the chicken katsu / panko chicken, while very tender itself, did not have enough curry sauce & it was too lumpy/dry. had the right taste but it wasn't authentic in its texture or quantity of sauce. it was surprising that eating the chicken with the curry sauce left zero curry sauce for the rice, so clearly they really didnt put enough curry sauce.
also in japan they cut the chicken katsu, it so you can enjoy picking up the chicken with chopsticks & not have to use knife, fork & chopsticks, however they didnt cut the chicken so you're required to cut the chicken yourself then eat it with chopsticks.
I am being picky but its the small details that elevate your dishes to be worth the price.
most dishes were quite tasty though, just could be optimized further, which is generally the staple of Japanese cuisine.
chicken karaage was decent as well.
miso soup was nothing special.
brussel sprouts were decent but needed a sauce or something as they're a little dry by themselves.
drinks are somewhat pricy as well, hitting a few bucks over other places. service was great.
Good variety of authentic Japanese food. Great service. I had two different versions of sushi & they were remarkable!!
It was a delightful experience at Sato Izakaya. The food was delicious. We ordered several dishes to share - the takoyaki, Japanese katsu, salmon aburi sushi, & spicy tuna inari sushi - & they were more than enough for two people. I must also mention Mrs. Lucy, whose kindness & warm welcome made the experience even better.
Amazing food & service. Had the torched salmon, chicken carbonara katsu, & brussel sprouts with bacon. Will definitely be coming back 😍
Popped in for some snacks & drinks, no booze yet but the mocktails were lovely so I'm sure the regular cocktails will be great!
Best tonkatsu I've ever had in my life !! Felt like I was transported back to Japan! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend
Super charming Izakaya with traditional decor & cozy atmosphere. Great menu with tons of options (& delicious Katsu). Unbelievably friendly & skilled staff!
Wow amazing discovery, everything we had was good. Price is more than fair, food was fresh & well executed, the vibe was good nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Would definitely go back & try everything on the menu.
