Reviews describe Sans Soleil Bar as a vibrant, intimate venue with a speakeasy mood and a vinyl led DJ vibe that transitions from dinner to a late night dance floor, drawing praise for the warm atmosphere and attentive service. The food earns frequent high marks for quality and flavor, with favorites like sashimi, duck magret, and other carefully prepared dishes; some diners note that portions can be small and seating is snug when the room is crowded. Drinks are highlighted for craft and variety, including well made cocktails and a notable focus on Japanese influences, though a limited downstairs drink menu at times is mentioned. The staff and overall hospitality are repeatedly praised for friendliness, knowledge, and responsiveness, contributing to a sense of welcome even during busy periods. Taken together, Sans Soleil Bar is seen as a standout Montreal spot for those seeking a unique combination of excellent food, strong drinks, and a music driven atmosphere, with many fans planning return visits despite occasional organizational hiccups on crowded nights.
Overall experience was great. We were 6 people & had the 70$ menu. Plenty of different dishes all of which were super tasteful. Service was super nice & on point. Highly recommend!!!

My husband & I were visiting Montreal for a few days & intended to go to Fleurs & Cadeaux for dinner, but we got sent to Sans Soleil when we arrived. Boy are we glad we ended up there! The vibe at Sans Soleil was so cozy & fun, perfect for a rainy Sunday evening, & we loved the DJ. The cocktails were creative & tasty, & the food was incredible. We ate every last bite. Andie, our server, was amazing too! We left feeling like we lucked out having this great dinner experience in such a fun spot we never would've found on our own.
Wow, it's been a while I wanted to go to this restaurant & I was really pleased to finally go. The food is awesome, the waitress suggested some great wines & DJ is good. Would definitely go back, a hidden gem. Thanks

I hate to say it but there are some bars that just guarantee good music & good vibes & this is one of them. However I have found that recently there have been many tech bros & finance bros coming I think becuase it's so close to the convention centers & it's fine but also they all bring their backpacks here & then it's like stuff is jingling around in there while they're dancing & I just feel like it's a small space already so it just takes up a lot more space to bring your backpack to the dance floor like there's a lot of storage for you to just leave your bag on the ground I promise no one is going to steal it like idk
The food is good, the music is great (vinyl mix) but the staff RUINS it. They are super cold & rude, make you feel very unwanted. The signature cocktails sound cool but are not actually good, stick to classics.

The drink & vibe were good but the waiters were super rude!!! First of all we asked them for food & he said it's gonna be the last call & just after two minutes he said it's done no more food! Then they got the order & asked for money before serving which was my first experience like this & felt very uncomfortable! Last but not least my friend asked a waiter to come for another order he didn't answer & just with gestures said come here!!! It's a shame!
the food & vibe was great! i love places like this that are cool, & hip & fun but tbh i thought maybe the service was a biiiiiiiiiit of a too cool for you vibe. that being said, it was still lovely & i'd go back.
