One of the best if not the best place to try pasta in Canada. Would comeback again in montreal & visit this place. The owner is really nice & welcoming. Overall 10/10! Food was really great. 🤌🤍View more
Good: didn't have to walk all the way to little Italy.
Mediocre: most of the food, especially the pasta dishes
Bad: service. We were reluctantly given a table outside, then told to move, then told we can only order if all decisions were made (entrees, principle together). Maybe because their larger reserved party didn't show they slow rolled the bill
Awful: tiramisu. It was 3-4 partial ladyfingers with barely any espresso (owner, manager directly stated this), 95% whipped cream, & a paltry dusting of cocoa. Sure food preferences are highly variable but this dessert directly translates to'pick me up'. The espresso should have boldness, & there needs to be a bitter cocoa balance for the sugar. Plus where are the whipped eggs? We didn't finish it, needless to say.
Overall it felt like we were an annoyance to this crew. If you want meatballs of a forgettable nature (& why anyone would purchase this sauce for home is beyond me), pasta dishes with equal or lessor impact, & a dish that is a shameful render, by all means stop by!View more
Excellent experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a wonderful evening at this Italian restaurant. The welcome was really warm & the staff were lovely from the moment we arrived.
The atmosphere is very friendly with tasteful decor & a cozy feel. The soft lighting creates the perfect setting for dinner as a couple or with friends - you feel comfortable right away.
As for the food, we absolutely loved it! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were delicious & the portions were generous.
The service was attentive, the servers are friendly & know their menu very well. They give excellent recommendations with genuine care & remain thoughtful throughout the meal.
The value for money is very fair for the quality offered. An address we warmly recommend for spending a lovely time enjoying authentic Italian cuisine.
Thank you for this wonderful evening, we'll definitely be back!
An amazing find in Old Port! The food at Salumi Vino is absolutely delicious, with pasta cooked perfectly al dente.
The arancini tasted perfect & the beef ravioli will satisfy any cravings for a stuffed pasta. The mushroom sauce for the ravioli was great but the large mushrooms in the dish became a bit too much even for a mushroom lover like myself. However, the ravioli itself may be the best I've ever had.
The gnocchi was a standout as well. The owner Mario takes great care of his customers & he's created a wonderful ambiance. Already planning to come back next time I'm in Montreal to eventually make my way through the entire menu!View more
Incredible place, this quaint restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Staff is friendly & Mario is wonderful & very Attentive ! All our dishes were delicious & the pasta is amazing!!! Wine is excellent. It was an absolute pleasure! Highly recommendView more
If you are looking for delicious authentic Italian food in Montreal, this is the place to go! The dining area is small but intimate & the service was attentive. We ordered the fried calamari & arancini for appetizers & the Cavatelli con Provola Affumicato, Ravioli con Manzo, & Gnocchi Tartufati for our entrees. The pasta was all homemade & my sister said the gnocchi was the best she's ever had (& I agree). The sauces were also fresh & full of flavor. The sauce on the raviolis is worthy of a special mention; it was almost gravy like & the mushroom wasn't overpowering. My only complaint is that I didn't save any room for dessert! I will definitely return to this hidden gem the next time I am in Montreal.View more
Delicious dinner, pasta was fresh, tiramisu was cool & perfect ending to the meal, & the service was top notch. A delightful evening of excellent fresh authentic food!View more
Wow, what a discovery! Facts: this is an Italian restaurant; it has an extensive wine list that complements much of the scratch made menu items. Notable differences from "other" Italian restaurants: the menu has a lot of off-the-beaten-path items (zucchini flowers as appetizers) as well as well-thought interpretations that transport you to Italy. The sauces are well simmered, so they develop a rich taste, enhancing the meats, fish or vegetables. We didn't have desserts, but the veal meatballs (with its Parmesan gratin & tomato sauce) & zucchini flowers as appetizers were well received, & the main courses of rapini sausage pasta (a bit oily, though), gnocchi & tuna plates were well executed. Don't forget to ask for bread to capture all the sauces that come with main dishes - it's a shame to waste it!View more
Delicious oso bucco & pasta! ❤️ owner is super nice. Great atmosphere.View more

Ideal place to go with your partner, the pastas are incredible & the customer service is excellent. I went a month ago & i was served by a very nice waiter, a Latin boy with short black hair, I think he is Peruvian, he was very kind to me, therefore I give the restaurant 5 stars for him.View more
I had the pleasure of dining at Salumi Vino with a few friends, & it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant's warm & inviting ambiance made it the perfect spot for our gathering. We indulged in various pasta dishes, all of which were absolutely delicious. The highlight for me was the eggplant parmigiano & the short rib risotto-both were perfectly cooked & bursting with flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly & attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Mario, the owner, made us feel like part of the family. If you're in Montreal & craving authentic Italian food, Salumi Vino is a must-visit.View more
My family enjoyed an excellent meal at this classic Italian restaurant. The service was impeccable (Daniel) & owner Mario was a pleasure to talk to. The meatballs & amazing red sauce were fantastic. The Pappardelle Boscaiolo doesn't disappoint with black truffles & mushrooms. Homemade pasta makes every dish stand out with superb flavor. The wine list is impressive & makes pairing dishes very easy. Leave room for the tiramisu.View more
Salumi Vino offers a cozy, elegant Italian dining experience with excellent wines. Enjoy fresh, traditional dishes like homemade pasta, seafood, & meats. The Fra Diavolo is a highlight, & the tiramisu is delightful. The wine list is impressive, & the service is top-notch, making each visit memorable.View more
At Salumi Vino, you can find a menu full of delicious, traditional Italian dishes that have been cherished for generations. If you're a pasta lover, you should try their pasta - it's their specialty! The cheese hails all the way from Italy, making everything extra amazing. The restaurant has a decent selection of vegetarian options. Excellent service. It might not be the cheapest, but trust me, it's worth it!View more
Have to say. Been to many places ... & this place always feels like home. If you're from Montreal you should try it. If you're not, you should still try it ! Treated like royalty & been happy to have been going there for over 7 years. Amazing food & the owner is a very knowledgeable wine connoisseur. Food is always on point. My advice to someone who has never been here. If you don't order multiple entrees to share then you're missing so much of what the restaurant has to offer. They're amazing to share & have each such a great taste for your pallet. If you have a chance to ever try the osso bucco when it's there definitely worth it !!! Very friendly staff. Always polite & pleasant. Fantastic restaurant. Fantastic noodles (I mean pasta 😉) Thank you Mario for always treating us like gold when we are there. First class my friend.View more
A life changing restaurant. The absolute BEST pasta in the city. Hands down. Best dishes: the truffle gnocchi is to DIE for!! A classic & absolutely delicious. Handmade gnocchi with a creamy perfectly balanced dish. The tomato sauce is hand made & makes for a perfect dish with their handmade pasta. Mario truly knows his wines & always picks a good pairing!! Definitely don't skip the chocolate mousse - it is happiness in a cup 🤩 A true hidden gem in montreal - worth EVERY penny!View more
Excellent food, I don't think it gets any better than this. Especially once you add some hot pepper mix, if you're able to handle the heat. We loved our meals & will return here next time we're in Montreal. Excellent pasta & wine.View more
Went there for dinner with a group of 6 & friends from out of town. Mr Mario was very welcoming & has a great sense of humour. Rachel, our server, was fantastic. She was very attentive & just a wonderful personality. We ordered a charcuterie appetizer, very good but the zuchini flowers were delicious. The veal was great & sauce delicious. Friends were very happy with beef short rib & pasta. Wine list is excellent & reasonable prices. Atmosphere is really nice in a beautiful old building typical of old Montreal. I typically dont eat out too much in Italian restaurants but we really had a good time with great food & service.View more
Food & service were both great. So nice to eat at restaurant with fresh ingredients & homemade pasta. It was my first time here, but a major difference from the poser Italian restaurants plaguing the city using frozen everything.View more
Great food, intimate vibe, & amazing service. Took my wife there for her birthday, & we felt catered to. The owner takes pride in offering the authentic Southern Italian cuisine experience. Menu is simple but offers a variety of pastas, meats, seafood & appetizers. They make their own tomato sauce & you can tell they use the freshest ingredients. You can also buy their sauce in a jar if you like. Wine selection was top notch. Overall, Prices are also extremely fair for the Old Port. Plus, it's around the corner from key Old Port hot spots while being far enough from the chaos to catch a break. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fantastic, authentic Italian food in an intimate environment.View more
We were super lucky to find this gem of a place open on Christmas! Service was fast & friendly, & the food we ordered (Pasta con Salsiccia e Rapini) was super tasty :)View more
I dined here with a group of 4 people. The service was amazing & attentive. My friend had the espresso martini & it was the best one she ever had. All of our food was very delicious & the best pasta we ever had. We would recommend this place to anyone. The pappardelle was to die for. After paying for our bill we needed to approach the owner to tell him how great the food was. Shook his hand & told him it was the most amazing food we’ve had in a long time. Go here if you want some amazing Italian food!!View more
Absolutely brutal restaurant. Not only was the food marginal at best but the attitude of the manager was horrible. A request for Parmesan on pasta - a pretty basic request - was denied because "it didn't complement the dish." When we questioned this, the manager came out & was clearly combative telling us our request was similar to asking for ketchup. If there was a zero star rating I'd give this restaurant one. It's also not in the heart of old Montreal as advertised but on the edge. Super disappointing. Don't waste your money.
