We had a wonderful evening at this Italian restaurant. The welcome was really warm & the staff were lovely from the moment we arrived.
The atmosphere is very friendly with tasteful decor & a cozy feel. The soft lighting creates the perfect setting for dinner as a couple or with friends - you feel comfortable right away.
As for the food, we absolutely loved it! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were delicious & the portions were generous.
The service was attentive, the servers are friendly & know their menu very well. They give excellent recommendations with genuine care & remain thoughtful throughout the meal.
The value for money is very fair for the quality offered. An address we warmly recommend for spending a lovely time enjoying authentic Italian cuisine.
Thank you for this wonderful evening, we'll definitely be back!

I don't usually write reviews, but Salumi Vino 100% deserves one. This place is hands-down one of my favourite restaurants in Old Montreal. The food is authentic, comforting Italian-like eating at my mom's or my nonna's-but with a touch of elegance in the way everything is presented.
The restaurant itself is small & cozy, with beautiful rustic walls that make it feel warm & intimate. One of the things I really appreciate is how clean everything is. I'm super picky when it comes to food & cleanliness, & what really impressed me is that the kitchen is completely open-so you can see everything being made right in front of you. It's like a little show, & it proves they're doing things right, from scratch & with care.
The wine selection is also great. Whether you're a wine lover or someone who just wants a nice glass to go with dinner, they've got you covered. & the staff is always so attentive & kind. Having the owner, Mario, come by each table personally just adds a special touch-it really feels like five-star service without the stuffiness.
I've been to Salumi Vino many times now, & I even hosted two family events there, including my small wedding. It was absolutely perfect. The location in Old Montreal makes it even better-amazing for photos & just a beautiful area to be in.
I recommend this place without a doubt. It's a hidden gem that truly feels like home, & the food never disappoints.View more

If you are looking for delicious authentic Italian food in Montreal, this is the place to go! The dining area is small but intimate & the service was attentive. We ordered the fried calamari & arancini for appetizers & the Cavatelli con Provola Affumicato, Ravioli con Manzo, & Gnocchi Tartufati for our entrees. The pasta was all homemade & my sister said the gnocchi was the best she's ever had (& I agree). The sauces were also fresh & full of flavor. The sauce on the raviolis is worthy of a special mention; it was almost gravy like & the mushroom wasn't overpowering. My only complaint is that I didn't save any room for dessert! I will definitely return to this hidden gem the next time I am in Montreal.View more

Wow, what a discovery! Facts: this is an Italian restaurant; it has an extensive wine list that complements much of the scratch made menu items. Notable differences from "other" Italian restaurants: the menu has a lot of off-the-beaten-path items (zucchini flowers as appetizers) as well as well-thought interpretations that transport you to Italy. The sauces are well simmered, so they develop a rich taste, enhancing the meats, fish or vegetables. We didn't have desserts, but the veal meatballs (with its Parmesan gratin & tomato sauce) & zucchini flowers as appetizers were well received, & the main courses of rapini sausage pasta (a bit oily, though), gnocchi & tuna plates were well executed. Don't forget to ask for bread to capture all the sauces that come with main dishes - it's a shame to waste it!View more

The restaurant's warm & inviting ambiance made it the perfect spot for our gathering. We indulged in various pasta dishes, all of which were absolutely delicious. The highlight for me was the eggplant parmigiano & the short rib risotto-both were perfectly cooked & bursting with flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly & attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Mario, the owner, made us feel like part of the family. The Pappardelle Boscaiolo doesn't disappoint with black truffles & mushrooms. Homemade pasta makes every dish stand out with superb flavor. Went there for dinner with a group of 6 & friends from out of town. Mr Mario was very welcoming & has a great sense of humour. Rachel, our server, was fantastic. She was very attentive & just a wonderful personality. We ordered a charcuterie appetizer, very good but the zuchini flowers were delicious. The veal was great & sauce delicious. Friends were very happy with beef short rib & pasta. Wine list is excellent & reasonable prices. Atmosphere is really nice in a beautiful old building typical of old Montreal. I typically dont eat out too much in Italian restaurants but we really had a good time with great food & service.View more

Great food, intimate vibe, & amazing service. Took my wife there for her birthday, & we felt catered to. The owner takes pride in offering the authentic Southern Italian cuisine experience. Menu is simple but offers a variety of pastas, meats, seafood & appetizers. They make their own tomato sauce & you can tell they use the freshest ingredients. You can also buy their sauce in a jar if you like. Wine selection was top notch. Overall, Prices are also extremely fair for the Old Port. Plus, it's around the corner from key Old Port hot spots while being far enough from the chaos to catch a break. I came to this restaurant over the weekend as I heard it was authentic Italian. Well boy let me tell you.. this was the best authentic Italian I had in a long time. I had a bottle of white wine which was amazing, which had me telling our server this was the second best Italian which I meant the first. (It was their amazing white wine which mixed me up). I also had the best espresso martini in all of Montreal… no word of a lie, heart & soul was put into this martini. I travel a lot, drink espresso martinis on the regular, had Italian grandparents & I can say this is the most authentic you are going to find in Montreal. Amazing service, amazing food & amazing drinks. Thank you so much for making our experience the best. Will recommend this restaurant to anyone in Montreal who wants a good eat & good service!! I dined here with a group of 4 people. The service was amazing & attentive. My friend had the espresso martini & it was the best one she ever had. All of our food was very delicious & the best pasta we ever had. We would recommend this place to anyone. The pappardelle was to die for. After paying for our bill we needed to approach the owner to tell him how great the food was. Shook his hand & told him it was the most amazing food we’ve had in a long time.
