Salle Climatisée stands out for its intimate, cozy atmosphere and warm, attentive service, while offering a constantly evolving menu that highlights seasonal produce and inventive flavor combinations. Dishes are frequently praised for precise execution, from leeks with sunflower seed sauces and a standout beef tartare to halibut, pork with chasseur sauce, and the decadent carrot pudding. The experience at the counter with an open kitchen is described as a dinner and a show, with wine and cocktails that complement the plates. The wine list is thoughtful and the staff are noted for care and knowledge, though the restaurant's small footprint means reservations are essential and the room can be lively or a touch loud. While the price point is often described as high, many feel the value is justified by the quality, and a few visits may not deliver a perfect wow on every dish. Overall, Salle Climatisée is repeatedly described as a gem in Montreal, offering memorable meals, friendly hosts, and a sense of home that brings guests back to explore the ever changing menu.
Great atmosphere, very cozy spot, everything was amazing. This place is a great culinary experience, & the carrot sticky pudding is out of this world. 100% recommend visiting.
My husband & I had such an enjoyable meal here. Brendan & his team were friendly, funny, attentive, & it was clear that they care so much about the food, the wine, & the guest experience. We sat at the bar which was great fun to watch the chefs at work & enjoy the bustling activity of the restaurant.
We shared a number of stellar dishes - leeks with two sunflower dressings, steak tartare, a warm corn dish, bread & butter, halibut from Gaspésie, & sticky carrot pudding. Each dish was delicious, with the halibut being a particular standout. It's so nice that restaurants like this exist - where you can enjoy food that has been prepared with care & served with that same care & attention. We'll be back the next time we're in Montreal!

We've been coming to Montreal for 15 years in the summer & have followed several chefs/restaurant managers as they deepen their talents. The current iteration of Brendan's Salle Climatisée achieves one of highest pinnacles of Montreal's special experiences: well-conceived & excellent local fresh & seasonal exquisite bites. I couldn't say a word while eating the poached lobster & the accompanying Hof Kelsten bread, which helped me get every last drop of the sauce. The halibut, green bean salad, & carrot bread pudding brought similar pleasures. A fun atmosphere, convivial staff, & a great wine selection. Can't wait to go back.
This is a divine restaurant. Every dish we got was perfect (the leeks, the halibut, cheese plate, sticky pudding). We sat at the counter & watched the excellent chefs make it look easy. The wine we had was also great (glasses, white). The price is fair. The whole vibe is endearingly laid back & confident. Great time.
5 stars on everything. The service was fantastic (thanks for the shot of Amaro at the end of the meal, chef!). The food was creative & delicious. The wine choices excellent & the vibe immaculate. Don't leave without trying the pork & the sticky carrot pudding.
Wow, expectations were high from all the positive coverage but we enjoyed our first experience even more than we could have imagined! Everything was perfect. Warm, attentive service. Great wine recommendation. Each dish was simple but creative, unusual & really flavorful. The leeks in vinaigrette are a revelation. Sticky pudding possibly the best ever, & we've tried a lot! Tiny but intimate space, can't wait to go back. (Not your spot if you like to start your evening with a beer, though. Only one, a bottled import, available. Not really any cocktails or digestifs either. But a vast by-the-glass wine selection ($15-$20 per generous pour) is curated to the menu to make up for this)
Great service & wine recommendations. Beef tartare was amazing. Cabbage was the best cabbage I've ever had, really the ideal way to cook it. Chicken & clams was good, mostly because of the broth. I didn't feel like the gigantes beans added anything. The carrot cake sticky toffee pudding hybrid had this weird salty buttery taste to it that wasn't the best. The gentiane spritz recommended as a starter was refreshing.

Best restaurant in Montreal. Very candid environment with good quality simple ingredients. I have been stopping by here every time I visit Montreal. Food: incredible, we got the beef tongue, mushrooms, beef tartare, beet salad & sticky pudding Atmosphere: candid & homely Service: very good
Simple local ingredients well executed & fresh. The staff is friendly, attentive & the service is fast (but not too fast like you feel like being rushed iykyk). We will for sure come back! The sticky pudding dessert was the cherry on top of the evening (probably one of the best desserts I've eaten...)
We chose this restaurant because of its inclusion on the list of Canada's 100 Best restaurants list. It most definitely belongs on this list & should perhaps rate much higher than its current place at number 50 - one of my best meals ever! The dishes are fresh & creative - we particularly enjoyed the vegetable forward dishes (cucumber salad, cauliflower), the char (melt in your mouth!) & the sticky toffee pudding. A simple but perfect menu! The natural wines were surprisingly enjoyable as well. & Jess was a fantastic server - keeping our bread plate well stocked to soak up all the mouthwatering sauces!
