About us
Rotisserie Chalet Bar-B-Q opened its doors in August 1944. Over the years we have built a legendary reputation for the best roast chicken in the world. This really is the connoisseur's choice! We selectively buy wholesale chicken, always fresh and plump. Our chickens are slowly roasted in brick kilns on real maple charcoal. We ensure that all our chickens are gold and crisp on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. When served with our famous home-made dipping sauce, nothing compares. Simply delicious. Always a nostalgic meal at Chalet Bar-B-Q, a must-visit when we return home for comforting & familiar Montreal food, along with smoked meat & bagels, of course! The decor is dated but that is what makes it so charming. Chicken is always perfectly cooked - they are the only ones in Montreal still allowed to use charcoal, & their's is red cherrywood. It complete elevates the chicken. French fries are plentiful & perfect, especially with their nonstop supply of sauce. I want to also mention Tina, our server, who is joy personified & the most attentive waitperson imaginable. She took the best possible care of us & we left with full bellies & smiles on our faces.View more

We've come here for as long as I could remember, we did our family birthdays here when I was a kid! Although we moved away from NDG, coming back feels like home. My husband recently did a ventilation job here & even then, he was treated like family & fed very generously. This review is long due. The team & service has remained consistently amazing through the years & they still serve the best rotisserie chicken in town.View more

A classic'chalet' style restaurant. Been around for years & years. I only started going there when I met my boyfriend. It's his family's go-to spot.
Chicken is great. Sauce is great. Service is great. Not many options to choose from (which is great for me, too many options make it harder to choose).

Been here more times than I can count
Since 1944 they have perfected the recipe & the Chicken is truly underrated.
I ordered a Double quarter chicken leg with a Cesar salad & the food was exactly the way it is. Chicken was tender juicy not too seasoned & the Gravy was perfect & the best part.
The baked potato was good & delicious.
Came here with a friend & his first time. He loved it.
Parking is free behind the building & on the street if optional.
I highly recommend it & you must try this place.
The service was a little slow depending on the waiter/ waitress & time if it's busy but other than that I will be back for sure again & always.

Ordered at 6:45. Waited until 8:10. Called & was told they went to the wrong address. Told them to send a replacement out ASAP. Called again at 9PM & was told 10 minutes. Food showed up by 9:15. They gave me a discount, but this was far below what I have experienced in my 50+ years as a customer.View more
