We went on a trip to Montreal & had our lunch at RH Rooftop. The restaurant is absolutely stunning - the glass rooftop, chandeliers, & décor make the atmosphere so elegant & relaxing. I had the Whole Grilled Branzino, which was cooked perfectly, while my partner enjoyed the Grilled Shrimp & loved it. We also shared dessert with coffee, which made our lunch even more special.
The service was friendly & attentive, & we were seated in a beautiful spot that made the experience memorable. It was the perfect place to enjoy our trip & we would definitely recommend it.'
One of the most beautiful restaurants I have been to in Montreal. However, the food & the service was severely lacking.
For the service, most employees were friendly, however they all lacked professionalism & proper training. I am aware that the restaurant is new so I can kinda understand, but it seemed like everyone they hired had 0 experience in the restauration industry. For example nobody would pick up the empty dirty plates, they would often forget requests, they wouldn't bring clean empty plates after the appetizers that are meant to be shared are brought to the table. I imagine this aspect will be better with time & experience.
For the food, it is wayyyyy too expensive for what it is. The portions are very small & the taste is just OK, they couldn't even get the steak & salmon doneness right, & even after the waitress brought the steak to the kitchen, she came back to tell us that the chefs said'this is how we do it here' so we just ate it that way. For example our 1/3rd inch ribeye that comes with no sides is 88$ before tax & tips. For the price tag, i'd imagine the food to be at a higher standard, but I guess the main attraction is really the ambiance.
I haven't tried their drinks, but all in all, I wouldn't come back here for the food.
RH Rooftop Restaurant has a beautiful & elegant design, which makes the place worth visiting. The food was good. Service was quite slow at times, & we often had to look for staff ourselves. But place is nice with nice atmosphere.
My experience at RH Rooftop Montreal was exceptional. The atmosphere is elegant & modern, with a breathtaking view that makes it perfect for any occasion. The service was attentive & professional, with staff making sure every detail was taken care of. The menu had a refined selection, & everything I ordered was beautifully presented & full of flavor. It's definitely one of the best dining spots in the city for both the food & the overall experience.
We visited this place to explore the furniture & decided to enjoy a cup of tea upstairs. The atmosphere was so beautiful & inviting that we instantly fell in love with it. Sipping Jasmine tea & a chai latte with a chocolate biscuit made the experience even sweeter. Highly recommended! Special thanks to Alex for the warm smile & excellent service.
We were very excited when RH opened in Montreal & visited right away. The staff had assured us they could accommodate dietary needs with substitutions. However, when we returned for lunch (after noting our requirements in the reservation), the wait staff was unaware. Our request to modify the grilled shrimp salad became complicated & simple substitutions such as adding broccolini with croutons was an issue. Eventually we were served a side of broccolini as the chef was unable to chop & add it to the salad....no croutons as they had butter & were not able to toast their ciabatta & add to salad!
Portion size very small.
We ordered avocado toast, fries, & a bagel with strawberry preserve, which was initially served incorrectly as an onion bagel before being corrected. While our server was polite, the experience left us disappointed by the lack of flexibility & limited vegan-friendly options. We'd love to eat at RH more often as it's such a beautiful spot, but wish there were more vegan options available.
Pros:
Beautiful atmosphere.
Very nice & helpful staff.
Food is decent, not exceptional.
Cons:
Extremely slow service but this seems to be a kitchen issue with poor execution. Our dessert never showed up. When we called our server over to inquire about it after waiting 40 minutes, we were told they'didn't know when it would come as they're very busy'. They did offer us complimentary cookies but wait time for a dessert & the'we don't know when it'll arrive' is not appropriate for a restaurant like this. I do appreciate the server who was apologetic. They did end up crediting us for the dessert & packaging it to go as we were on our way out.
Price: way too expensive for what it is. Wayyyy too expensive, my god. We paid $300 for 2 salads, lobster tail appetizer, artichokes, 2 ices lattes, & a glass of wine. I don't mind spending money on culinary experiences but this does not warrant the price. Also, portions are quite small.
Overall, I think I'd go back but only when I have 5 hours to kill & $400 to waste.
I had lunch with a friend & the service was terrible, very slow & inattentive. We had one course - salads, & it took 1 1/2 hours to complete our meal. The salads were good, & I hope the service will improve as the restaurant is beautiful, & the menu has a lot of interesting options.
The food was absolutely delicious full of flavor & beautifully presented. The service was top-notch our waitress, Meryem, was so kind, friendly, & engaging, she really made the experience even better. Can't wait to come back & try their brunch next time. Highly recommend!
