The sandwiches & burgers at Reuben's Deli are absolutely delicious-flavorful, fresh, & crafted with care. The staff is friendly, attentive, & efficient, which makes for a great overall dining experience.
However, I was surprised to discover they don't offer any gluten?free bread options. In today's culinary landscape, where dietary restrictions are well?recognized & accommodated by many eateries, this seems like a notable oversight. Providing gluten?free choices would make an excellent menu even better & more inclusive.Voir plus

Great food & excellent service!
This place is now my go-to spot for smoked meat sandwiches in Montréal. We tried the Famous Super Sandwich & the Chop Chop Poutine-both were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was outstanding: professional, friendly, & knowledgeable. She (we forgot to ask her name) was definitely the best waitress we've seen in a long time!Voir plus

Amazing smoked meat sandwiches. The meat was not grainy like a lot of reuban sandwiches, & it was super flavorful & rich. We had poutine on the side, which had amazing gravy. On another note, the service was incredible, & our server definitely earned his high tip. If you're in the area, this place is definitely a must go at least once.Voir plus

The restaurant has a very classic feel to it. Gustavo provided excellent service for food & drinks that were also both phenomenal.
For starters, we had the potato pancakes & sweet pickles. Nothing was coated in too heavy of a batter, it was all very light & tasty. The mustard dip went really well with the appetizers! As a vegetarian, this was the last place I thought I'd try, but Gustavo was great at recommending a few items for a main dish. I was thinking about the mushroom flatbread before he recommended the Reuben vegetarian sandwich, I was happy I went with his suggestion. The vegetables were cooked nicely, the rye bread was fantastic, & the poutine was perfection. That being said my brother & father's sandwiches looked quite hearty & they had nothing but good to say about it!
All in all, this is a must try restaurant if you are in downtown Montreal. It was a five minute walk from our hotel & it was well worth it! A reservation was made in advance, so make sure you give yourself some time if you are going during dinner rush.Voir plus

Visited Reuben's while in Montreal to try as many Montreal Smoked meat places as I could.. & Reuben's did not disappoint. The restaurant is more upscale than other smoked meat places. The place is very nice & staff is very friendly. The sandwiches are delicious & flavourful. I do like it better than Dunn's. But its a different type of place as well. Great Lunch.Voir plus

Service was good! Prompt & helpful. We asked for some recommendations & were mostly met with "I wouldn't order this, but everything else is great". We got the large corned beef sandwich that we shared. The bread was a little sad, like soggy? Would be better toasted like on a reuben. The mustard was good. I really like that the meat wasn't fatty at all. Sometimes I feel that corned beef sandwiches are really tough & fatty which wasn't the case here. Had the onion rings which were good but not special at all. Not sure you get enough for the price. Also got the short rib poutine, & for some reason the meat was cold? The fries were hot & steaming, but the meat was cold until we buried it under the fries & gravy & then it warmed up. It was good but not outstanding. Had two cocktails, they were pretty solid. Nothing was super standout, at nearly $40 I think I expected a little more flavour in the sandwich, & nicer bread. I'd go again but would maybe try other items. I was confused between this place & another Reuben that's close by. Well, the other one wasn't open so I could only visit this one. Came here for my 2nd dinner as I only had one day in Montreal. I had to get the "OG" sandwich with smoked meats. Boy, did it not disappoint. It was the best thing I had with my 3 meals in Montreal. The smoked meats were flavorful & tender. With melted cheese, I really liked it. I did upgrade the fries to a poutine, but this didn't impress me. I don't like my fries soggy & the cheese & gravy certainly did. It was also on the salty side. My wife got the French onion soup as she couldn't eat much for her 2nd dinner. The soup was not bad, but she had made one before & I think it was better. I also read some reviews & was looking forward to the black cherry soda. Glad I ordered as it was tasty! The service was great as our server checked in with us often & was very courteous. Nice display of smoke meats in front. I would certainly go back, even if it was just for the smoked meat sandwiches.Voir plus

Easily one of my favorite sandwiches ever. The Famous Super Sandwich is wonderful. Their smoked meat is unbelievably tender & stacked high on the bread. I had to eat it with a fork. Just wow! & the fries are slim & crisp too. Just had one bite of the slaw & it was tangy. We also had the smoked meat mac & cheese. It was good but not nearly as good as the sandwich. Our server was very friendly & we had a good chat with him. Highly recommended!Voir plus

The restaurant itself is very clean & very well kept. The service was as good as it gets. Our waiter was very attentive & very polite. The food itself is a staple in Montreal. The first thing I want to mention is not to trust the menus posted here, as they are outdated. One of their Famous Sandwiches is like $29, & not $19 as I saw in other posts. However, the food is delicious. I bought a sandwich to go & it came with A LOT of fries & some coleslaw. Two can eat out of it. & I must admit it was really really good. Good otherwise, but not the place to go if you have dietary restrictions such as having celiac or needing to eat a gluten-free diet. There is no gluten-free bread &, even if there were, the famous sandwiches are cooked on a shared grill with high possibility of cross-contamination. Any fried foods (like french fries) are cooked in a shared fryer. Even sides that are typically gluten free, like rice, contained gluten. & no gluten-free dessert options. That said, our server went out of his way to talk to people in the kitchen & identify a few gluten-free options for me, which was much appreciated. I ended up having grilled salmon with veggies. There were also a couple of salads that could be modified to be gluten free.Voir plus

I rarely, & I mean like never leave a review but this place deserves one. Service 11/10 Our server Matthew was beyond amazing...polite, patient with our 5 kids with us, accommodating, insert more positive adjectives for Matthew...he was that good, I wish I could take him back to the states to train the miserable servers we have. 25% tip no question that's how great he was. Food- 11/10 Party of 9 & everything was amazing. From salads to sandwiches everything was beyond great. I'm ashamed to say I left food on the plate....but portions were great. I had the OG grilled sandwich with brisket, bacon & sausage...I'm about to explode...the poutine was delicious too Do yourself a great service & stop by to grab a bite here...I Guarentee you leave with a new definition of what great food & service should beVoir plus

We come here every time we visit Montreal. Good deli sandwiches. The French dip & Reuben were moist & tasty. Didn't like the Mac & cheese though. Service was quite & friendly. Prices have come up. Sad face.Voir plus
