Très déçue de notre soirée d'hier. Heureuse d'aller manger une nouvelle fois au Reuben (c'est la 4e fois pour moi) mais vraiment déçue par le service cette fois-ci qui a gâché le repas. Rien à dire sur le Smoked Meat qui est toujours aussi bon mais avoir un serveur qui vient nous importuner/nous couper dans nos conversations toutes les 2 min pour savoir si on a choisi, si on a fini (alors qu'on est encore en train de manger), si on peut payer (alors qu'on est en train de boire notre café)... & d'avoir la personne à l'accueil qui nous regarde avec insistance pendant une bonne partie du repas... vraiment très désagréable... certes une de nos amies est arrivée avec du retard mais il y avait beaucoup de place autour de nous & nous ne prenions pas la place d'autres clients... je ne pense pas y remettre les pieds.View more

After a morning hike on Mont Royal, we were craving something hearty & decided to stop by Reuben's Deli on Saint Catherine. It's a classic spot in the heart of Montreal, & we went straight for their smoked meat sandwich. The sandwich was stacked high with tender, juicy meat, perfectly seasoned, & the rye bread was just right - soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together. It was a really satisfying meal after the hike, but I have to admit, while Reuben's was great, it didn't quite beat Smoke Meat Pete out on Île Perrot. Pete's still holds the crown for me in terms of flavor & that melt-in-your-mouth texture. That said, if you're downtown & craving a smoked meat fix, Reuben's is definitely worth the stop!View more

I was confused between this place & another Reuben that's close by. Well, the other one wasn't open so I could only visit this one. Came here for my 2nd dinner as I only had one day in Montreal. I had to get the "OG" sandwich with smoked meats. Boy, did it not disappoint. It was the best thing I had with my 3 meals in Montreal. The smoked meats were flavorful & tender. With melted cheese, I really liked it. I did upgrade the fries to a poutine, but this didn't impress me. I don't like my fries soggy & the cheese & gravy certainly did. It was also on the salty side. My wife got the French onion soup as she couldn't eat much for her 2nd dinner. The soup was not bad, but she had made one before & I think it was better. I also read some reviews & was looking forward to the black cherry soda. Glad I ordered as it was tasty! The service was great as our server checked in with us often & was very courteous. Nice display of smoke meats in front. I would certainly go back, even if it was just for the smoked meat sandwiches.View more

Easily one of my favorite sandwiches ever. The Famous Super Sandwich is wonderful. Their smoked meat is unbelievably tender & stacked high on the bread. I had to eat it with a fork. Just wow! & the fries are slim & crisp too. Just had one bite of the slaw & it was tangy. We also had the smoked meat mac & cheese. It was good but not nearly as good as the sandwich. Our server was very friendly & we had a good chat with him. Highly recommended!View more

Staying nearby on vacation & went here on a whim. Ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. Bartender was super nice & suggested the (pictured) smoked meat & poutine. Even recommended me some places to check out later that night since it was Labor Day eve. Very thoughtful. Food was of course delicious & more importantly filling. You get your money's worth here. Ambiente informale ma molto carino dove si mangia con la magia del jazz in sottofondo; il menù è molto vario e si possono gustare vari tipi di hamburger, sandwich gourmet (consigliatissimi quelli con la smoked meat), piatti tipici ma anche con un occhio alla cucina internazionale per soddisfare ogni palato. $30 for a sandwich & fries that a normal human is unable to eat as an actual sandwich between 2 pieces of bread is absurd. the meat to tiny bread ratio is waaay of. & this might be controversial, the smoked meat is average by MTL standards.View more

Was given Reuben's as one of the two best places to try the Montreal specialty of smoked meat. The dishes of the Grilled Cheese with smoked meat & Smoked Meat Mac n Cheese were very good. But the standout was the Herb Marinated Chicken was AMAZING. The chicken was succulent & so flavorful. The best chicken we have had in ages. Service was great & the restaurant has a great ambience. Reuben's should not be missed on any trip to Montreal.View more

The restaurant itself is very clean & very well kept. The service was as good as it gets. Our waiter was very attentive & very polite. The food itself is a staple in Montreal. We got smoked meat sandwiches wish it came out a little bit warmer, but was still delicious. We came during lunchtime & it wasn't that crowded. I would recommend coming here.View more

Je fréquente ce restaurant depuis de nombreuses années & je n'ai jamais été déçu! Aujourd'hui, j'ai commandé quelque chose de différent: le sandwich de rôti de boeuf chaud, fromage suisse dans un pain baguette accompagné d'une trempette vermouth au jus & le tout, servi avec des frites. La viande tranchée mince était fondante, le fromage suisse fondu se mariait bien à celle-ci & le pain baguette était aussi servi chaud, sa croute craquante & sa mie moelleuse. C'ÉTAIT ABSOLUMENT DÉLICIEUX! Pour les amateurs de rôti de boeuf, je vous recommande ce sandwich sans hésitation! Egalement, je tiens à souligner le service souriant, professionnel & empressé de Sarah! Enfin, je ne veux surtout pas oublier de mentionner leur macaroni au smoked meat qui est tout à fait addictif ainsi que leurs burgers qui sont franchement décadents! I recently visited Reuben's in Montreal, & I was thoroughly impressed by the food. The quality & flavor were exceptional. From the first bite, it was clear that the ingredients were fresh & the dishes were prepared with great care. The smoked meat sandwich was particularly outstanding-juicy, tender, & perfectly seasoned. The sides were equally delightful, complementing the main courses beautifully. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the service was attentive & friendly. Overall, dining at Reuben's was a fantastic experience, & I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Montreal. Stopped in for a takeout meal. I ordered the smoked meat sandwich meal, which includes sandwich, fries, coleslaw & a pickle. I was amazed at the amount of thinly sliced smoked meat that was on the sandwich. Was supreme. Wish I lived closer, am from out of the city. The manager, while my friend & I were there was such a friendly guy, sharing travel stories for our entertainment. Wow! What an amazing place. The atmosphere alone is worth turning back some well preserved time. Then of course you have all the fine staff. In perfect attire to suit the business. All with the best customer service skills as well. As for my server Tanya. Man was she ever knowledgeable & extremely helpful. Certainly made my first visit to Montreal start off on the right foot. Let's not forget the food. When in Rome you know.... So yes, I started my adventure with a Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich & a sour pickle with slaw & fries. Take a very good look at that sandwich in the picture. Looks massive & delicious right? How about incredibly good tasting & extremely filling as well. You know the one in the picture.... Yeah that's the regular size. Take another look, that's regular. There's one bigger! Why? lol!!! My goodness what a fantastic place, best food & amazing staff.
