The beer was good Food experience: Very disappointing. My sandwich was poorly made, & the bread was toasted with old butter, which left an unpleasant burnt taste. They are using frozen fries similar that you want get in McDonald's very disappointing as well for the price that you're paying at this placeView more

Service was good! Prompt & helpful. We asked for some recommendations & were mostly met with "I wouldn't order this, but everything else is great". We got the large corned beef sandwich that we shared. The bread was a little sad, like soggy? Would be better toasted like on a reuben. The mustard was good. I really like that the meat wasn't fatty at all. Sometimes I feel that corned beef sandwiches are really tough & fatty which wasn't the case here. Had the onion rings which were good but not special at all. Not sure you get enough for the price. Also got the short rib poutine, & for some reason the meat was cold? The fries were hot & steaming, but the meat was cold until we buried it under the fries & gravy & then it warmed up. It was good but not outstanding. Had two cocktails, they were pretty solid. Nothing was super standout, at nearly $40 I think I expected a little more flavour in the sandwich, & nicer bread. I'd go again but would maybe try other items. So overall a 4 star experience.View more

After a morning hike on Mont Royal, we were craving something hearty & decided to stop by Reuben's Deli on Saint Catherine. It's a classic spot in the heart of Montreal, & we went straight for their smoked meat sandwich. The sandwich was stacked high with tender, juicy meat, perfectly seasoned, & the rye bread was just right - soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together. It was a really satisfying meal after the hike, but I have to admit, while Reuben's was great, it didn't quite beat Smoke Meat Pete out on Île Perrot. Pete's still holds the crown for me in terms of flavor & that melt-in-your-mouth texture. That said, if you're downtown & craving a smoked meat fix, Reuben's is definitely worth the stop!View more

I was confused between this place & another Reuben that's close by. Well, the other one wasn't open so I could only visit this one. Came here for my 2nd dinner as I only had one day in Montreal. I had to get the "OG" sandwich with smoked meats. Boy, did it not disappoint. It was the best thing I had with my 3 meals in Montreal. The smoked meats were flavorful & tender. With melted cheese, I really liked it. I did upgrade the fries to a poutine, but this didn't impress me. I don't like my fries soggy & the cheese & gravy certainly did. It was also on the salty side. My wife got the French onion soup as she couldn't eat much for her 2nd dinner. The soup was not bad, but she had made one before & I think it was better. I also read some reviews & was looking forward to the black cherry soda. Glad I ordered as it was tasty! The service was great as our server checked in with us often & was very courteous. Nice display of smoke meats in front. I would certainly go back, even if it was just for the smoked meat sandwiches.View more

Easily one of my favorite sandwiches ever. The Famous Super Sandwich is wonderful. Their smoked meat is unbelievably tender & stacked high on the bread. I had to eat it with a fork. Just wow! & the fries are slim & crisp too. Just had one bite of the slaw & it was tangy. We also had the smoked meat mac & cheese. It was good but not nearly as good as the sandwich. Our server was very friendly & we had a good chat with him. Highly recommended!View more

On a marché depuis Parc Lafontaine jusqu'ici juste pour avoir un bon apétit. C'était bien parce qu'on a commandé un sandwich de smoke meat (10 oz). $30 for a sandwich & fries that a normal human is unable to eat as an actual sandwich between 2 pieces of bread is absurd. the meat to tiny bread ratio is waaay of. & this might be controversial, the smoked meat is average by MTL standards.View more

I wish I could give this place 15 stars. I am not from Montreal & am only in the area to assist with the flooding. I was recommended to try this place, & I must say... I don't think I've ever eaten a sandwich in such a fast or unceremonious manner. & I mean that in the best way possible. This was easily the best sandwich I've ever had & it's not even close. I will definitely be ordering again before leave, likely multiple times. This sandwich alone will be worth coming back to Montreal for after I leave!View more

Je fréquente ce restaurant depuis de nombreuses années & je n'ai jamais été déçu! Aujourd'hui, j'ai commandé quelque chose de différent: le sandwich de rôti de boeuf chaud, fromage suisse dans un pain baguette accompagné d'une trempette vermouth au jus & le tout, servi avec des frites. La viande tranchée mince était fondante, le fromage suisse fondu se mariait bien à celle-ci & le pain baguette était aussi servi chaud, sa croute craquante & sa mie moelleuse. C'ÉTAIT ABSOLUMENT DÉLICIEUX! Pour les amateurs de rôti de boeuf, je vous recommande ce sandwich sans hésitation! Egalement, je tiens à souligner le service souriant, professionnel & empressé de Sarah! Enfin, je ne veux surtout pas oublier de mentionner leur macaroni au smoked meat qui est tout à fait addictif ainsi que leurs burgers qui sont franchement décadents! The first thing I want to mention is not to trust the menus posted here, as they are outdated. One of their Famous Sandwiches is like $29, & not $19 as I saw in other posts. However, the food is delicious. I bought a sandwich to go & it came with A LOT of fries & some coleslaw. Two can eat out of it. & I must admit it was really really good. I can't wait to go there on my next visit to MontrealView more

I rarely, & I mean like never leave a review but this place deserves one. Service 11/10 Our server Matthew was beyond amazing...polite, patient with our 5 kids with us, accommodating, insert more positive adjectives for Matthew...he was that good, I wish I could take him back to the states to train the miserable servers we have. 25% tip no question that's how great he was. Food- 11/10 Party of 9 & everything was amazing. From salads to sandwiches everything was beyond great. I'm ashamed to say I left food on the plate....but portions were great. I had the OG grilled sandwich with brisket, bacon & sausage...I'm about to explode...the poutine was delicious too Do yourself a great service & stop by to grab a bite here...I Guarentee you leave with a new definition of what great food & service should beView more

From the first bite, it was clear that the ingredients were fresh & the dishes were prepared with great care. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the service was attentive & friendly. Overall, dining at Reuben's was a fantastic experience, & I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Montreal. Stopped in for a takeout meal. I ordered the smoked meat sandwich meal, which includes sandwich, fries, coleslaw & a pickle. I was amazed at the amount of thinly sliced smoked meat that was on the sandwich. Was supreme. Wish I lived closer, am from out of the city. The manager, while my friend & I were there was such a friendly guy, sharing travel stories for our entertainment. Huge thumbs up, & if you crave smoked meat, this most definitely is the place to go.View more
