We regularly order the smoked salmon rice dish from this restaurant & have always enjoyed it. However, over the last 3-4 weeks, the quality of the pickup experience has noticeably declined.
I order through Uber Eats for pickup & arrive exactly at the time specified in the app. Despite that, the food is already cold when I receive it. I live just around the corner, so by the time I get home, the meal is completely cold. My child no longer wants to eat it, which has become very frustrating.
This has happened with several recent orders, whereas it was never an issue before. If the food is prepared well before the scheduled pickup time, then the pickup time provided by Uber Eats becomes meaningless.
I hope the restaurant can look into this & make sure pickup orders are ready at the correct time & served hot, as they used to be.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience! The signature sea intestine rice is still absolutely fantastic. Every dish we ordered tastes incredible.
For appetizers, marinated beef tongue & raw-marinated salmon are my top picks. The beef tongue is incredibly tender & fully infused with savory sauce.
Their newly launched laksa is a must-try! It has a distinct Thai creamy coconut flavor. The special black noodles are springy with a one-of-a-kind texture. The red-braised lamb goes perfectly with rice & is super satisfying. All the other dishes & the dessert cake are also lovely. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Rizière is a relaxed restaurant, one of few in Montreal, it seems, where you are actually able to talk to all of the guests at your table without yelling over the background noise / music. The food is good, portions are well sized (a bit heavy on the rice portion), but NOT outstanding or eye-opening.
We had a really great dining experience here! The food was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The dumplings were especially impressive - juicy, perfectly cooked, & packed with filling. The noodles were rich & satisfying, with a great balance of toppings & texture.
We also tried a few cold dishes, which were refreshing & well-seasoned, perfect as starters. The beef with rice was tender & comforting, with a delicious savory sauce that paired perfectly with the rice.
The portions were generous, & everything tasted homemade & authentic. The service was friendly & efficient, & the overall atmosphere was clean & welcoming.
Definitely a place I would come back to & recommend to friends!
Location: At the street corner where a few convenience stores are
Food: Sichuan Zhong dumplings are great! Unexpected sauces but really tasty. Rice with seafood is a new option & worth a try.
Price: Reasonable.
I will recommend it to anyone who wants to have a decent meal with friends & families.
The food is great. I had the chicken salad for the appetizer & Salmon & rice as the main course. Both were fantastic.
Walking into Rizière in Montreal is always a treat for the senses. The bustling atmosphere, combined with the savoury aromas wafting from the kitchen, immediately sets the stage for an authentic experience. I recently tried their spicy beef with rice & it was absolutely exquisite. The Dumplings were perfectly prepared crisp on the outside, tender & flavourful inside. The service was prompt, friendly, & attentive, ensuring our tea cups were never empty. If you are looking for top-notch Cantonese cuisine (or Szechuan, depending on the restaurant), this is easily one of the best spots in the city. A must-visit for any serious food lover!
Came to Montreal for our honeymoon, & randomly had a chance to visit this restaurant. I must first recommend the place for its petit environment with friendly & efficient staff.
I am always a laksa lover, the laksa is great for its broth, & is marvelous for the rice noodle option they had-Thin, chewy, & immersed well in the soup.
For tan tan noodles (or dan dan noodles, whichever you translate), it is considered the best of North America so far based on my wife's opinion (for these 8 years). The proportion is also fair for a single order.
Still, we two skipped lunch, so we ordered the beef noodle soup to wrap up the experience. For how chewy & juicy the beef chunks are, it worth a 5-star itself. The soup is kind of a blend of Taiwanese & some southern Chinese style, which satisfied both our taste buds.
As a result, I am adding another 5 star review to the 600+ others, the place is worth it, & quite a hidden gem in the city. Bon appetit 😋
So good we forgot to take pictures. The dumplings, beef noodle soup, & salmon rice dish were spectacular. Very unique experience & would come again!
This small corner restaurant is homey, delicious, & the staff never stop moving as they attend to the different groups. I had the braised beef & rice, & a small cup of hot & sour soup: perfect for a cold night.
