This place is very creative, & you can really feel that from the way the dishes are presented & flavored.
The salmon was definitely distinctive & visually impressive, but it leaned a bit too salty, likely from the sauce. It made a strong first impression, though the saltiness became more noticeable as we continued eating.
For sides, we ordered the tofu skin, which was light, refreshing, & very clean in flavor - this one I would absolutely recommend. The chicken was also quite refreshing & nicely balanced.
The vegetable dish with shrimp looked appealing, but it was slightly salty as well, & the texture felt a little undercooked, which took away from the experience.
We also tried the spicy beef noodle, but this dish was quite oily, making it less enjoyable overall & not something I'd recommend.
Overall, I'd still give this place 5 stars for creativity. Almost every dish feels exciting at the first bite & makes you curious. However, as you continue eating, some dishes feel too salty, while others lean too oily.
If you enjoy inventive ideas & bold flavors, it's definitely worth trying - just keep in mind that not every dish is perfectly balanced.
I love this place so much, one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal.
However, I'm super super sad that they don't have the tomato beef stew noodle anymore. That was the best dish from them & my heart has a void that cannot be filled.
Quite a little gem of a restaurant with a bit of a stylish vibe to it. Food was amazing too, & I have high standards for Chinese food... Had the stir fried beef noodles which was amazing. They uses the type of ruffled wide noodles which carries flavor really well. The vegetable spring rolls were very refreshing too. Worth a detour!
Tried noodles here when traveling to Montreal, wow the flavor is sooo good, I had to order a second noodle dish after the first tomato beef topping noodle impressed me. I think it is one of best Chinese noodles I had in North America.
Walking into Rizière in Montreal is always a treat for the senses. The bustling atmosphere, combined with the savoury aromas wafting from the kitchen, immediately sets the stage for an authentic experience. I recently tried their spicy beef with rice & it was absolutely exquisite. The Dumplings were perfectly prepared crisp on the outside, tender & flavourful inside. The service was prompt, friendly, & attentive, ensuring our tea cups were never empty. If you are looking for top-notch Cantonese cuisine (or Szechuan, depending on the restaurant), this is easily one of the best spots in the city. A must-visit for any serious food lover!
Came to Montreal for our honeymoon, & randomly had a chance to visit this restaurant. I must first recommend the place for its petit environment with friendly & efficient staff.
I am always a laksa lover, the laksa is great for its broth, & is marvelous for the rice noodle option they had-Thin, chewy, & immersed well in the soup.
For tan tan noodles (or dan dan noodles, whichever you translate), it is considered the best of North America so far based on my wife's opinion (for these 8 years). The proportion is also fair for a single order.
Still, we two skipped lunch, so we ordered the beef noodle soup to wrap up the experience. For how chewy & juicy the beef chunks are, it worth a 5-star itself. The soup is kind of a blend of Taiwanese & some southern Chinese style, which satisfied both our taste buds.
As a result, I am adding another 5 star review to the 600+ others, the place is worth it, & quite a hidden gem in the city. Bon appetit 😋
So good we forgot to take pictures. The dumplings, beef noodle soup, & salmon rice dish were spectacular. Very unique experience & would come again!
So delicious, very authentic flavour & the waitress was very nice. The store was nice & clean. Highly recommend the braised beef noodle soup, the beef taste is just perfect
Really enjoyed all the food! Super delicious & filling. Big portions as well! We shared everything we got & were able to try the beef dumplings, beef chilli noodles & the torched salmon!! A spot I will definitely be visiting again.
Great neighbourhood gem. I went for takeout on a rainy Friday night. Had the Szechuan dumplings & the beef laksa with thin noodles. Amazing. Spicy. Comforting. I'm so satisfied & I will definitely go back & bring friends & family.
My friend & I ordered two noodles & one dumpling. Overall the taste was OK, but my beef fried noodles was really salty & the portion was not big, I didn't even feel full.
Loved this place. We had wonderful chili & sour soup & Sichuan style dumplings to start, then tasty tofu Laksa & flavorful braised beef noodle soup. Also, an amazing value & very friendly service. 5 stars.
A true gem of Chinese cuisine in Montreal. The beef noodle soup was so flavorful & had tender cuts of beef, & the chili pepper stir fry w/ wide noodles was addictingly spicy. Wish we had more time in the city so we could visit again.
Really surprise! I feel the beef noodle in this small restaurant is the best I've had in Montreal! & the boss & waiters are very nice! What a restaurant! Will definitely go there again~
Cutest spot for a nice but casual enough date. We have been back 3 times already! The beef noodle soup is to die for. Excellent quality. Great service ♥️
This place is amazing ! Flavourful dishes, caring & kind service, & a chill environment. Tonight, I had the beef with broth & the flavours were so perfect on a cold evening. I can't wait to go back & try the torched salmon bowl.
Delicious foods & nice staff. A bit crowded on evenings. The waitress was very busy, but the service was excellent. My top 1 favorite dish was the beef noodle soup, the beef broth was really tasty & we asked for a refill of noodles ( the noodles are unlimited!). The dumplings are good as well. My friends love it so much.
This small corner restaurant is homey, delicious, & the staff never stop moving as they attend to the different groups. I had the braised beef & rice, & a small cup of hot & sour soup: perfect for a cold night.
