This place is very creative, & you can really feel that from the way the dishes are presented & flavored.
The salmon was definitely distinctive & visually impressive, but it leaned a bit too salty, likely from the sauce. It made a strong first impression, though the saltiness became more noticeable as we continued eating.
For sides, we ordered the tofu skin, which was light, refreshing, & very clean in flavor - this one I would absolutely recommend. The chicken was also quite refreshing & nicely balanced.
The vegetable dish with shrimp looked appealing, but it was slightly salty as well, & the texture felt a little undercooked, which took away from the experience.
We also tried the spicy beef noodle, but this dish was quite oily, making it less enjoyable overall & not something I'd recommend.
Overall, I'd still give this place 5 stars for creativity. Almost every dish feels exciting at the first bite & makes you curious. However, as you continue eating, some dishes feel too salty, while others lean too oily.
If you enjoy inventive ideas & bold flavors, it's definitely worth trying - just keep in mind that not every dish is perfectly balanced.

Absolument délicieux, j'ai mangé le chow mein pekinois végétarien & je me suis régalé, l'ambiance est top, j'ai passé un super moment :) je recommande !
Troisième fois à la Rizière & toujours aussi bien servie par tout le personnel & régalée par les bons plats à la carte ! Je recommande particulièrement le plat au saumon (plats F1) ainsi que le M4 & le nouveau Kra Pao, délicieux; en entrée les dumplings aux arachides en valent le détour ! Je reviendrai !
Came to Montreal for our honeymoon, & randomly had a chance to visit this restaurant. I must first recommend the place for its petit environment with friendly & efficient staff.
I am always a laksa lover, the laksa is great for its broth, & is marvelous for the rice noodle option they had-Thin, chewy, & immersed well in the soup.
For tan tan noodles (or dan dan noodles, whichever you translate), it is considered the best of North America so far based on my wife's opinion (for these 8 years). The proportion is also fair for a single order.
Still, we two skipped lunch, so we ordered the beef noodle soup to wrap up the experience. For how chewy & juicy the beef chunks are, it worth a 5-star itself. The soup is kind of a blend of Taiwanese & some southern Chinese style, which satisfied both our taste buds.
As a result, I am adding another 5 star review to the 600+ others, the place is worth it, & quite a hidden gem in the city. Bon appetit 😋
Honnêtement exceptionnel. C'est notre rituel immanquable chaque fois qu'on est à Montreal, on se trouve même parfois des excuses pour se rendre dans la grandville (on est près de Sherbrooke) & manger à la Rizière.
Il m'est arrivé de faire un rêve légèrement érotique centré autour de leurs dumplings.
C'est rendu difficile d'apprécier des rouleaux impériaux avec les leurs comme comparatif.
Si je n'étais pas moralement en désaccord avec les services de livraison de nourriture, la Rizière aurait certainement ruiné mes économies.
Merci au gens derrière cet endroit, grâce à vous Montréal est devenu pour nous'observer le flot humain de Mont-Royal piéton en sirotant un exceptionnel thé glacé maison.'

Just went there a couple of hours ago - honestly, no words for how good it was! We got the dumplings, chow mein, & the salmon. Everything was amazing. Totally recommend it!

So delicious, very authentic flavour & the waitress was very nice. The store was nice & clean. Highly recommend the braised beef noodle soup, the beef taste is just perfect
This is my kind of restaurant - delicious, homey, unpretentious & above all a great value for money. The portions were very generous & inexpensive, & the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice place, delicious food & really nice staff. They have many vegetarian options. Recommend their new dishes: Assorted shredded vegetables, which is really appetizing during the summer time.

I have tried every single dish on the menu & everything is wonderful. You can go eyes closed & order anything on the menu you can be sure that you will have an amazing time. The service & ambiance is also great! I 100% recommend this place. Best authentic Chinese restaurant in town!!
Je suis agréablement surprise & conquise par se petit resto traditionnel. Les meilleurs dumblings que j'ai mangée. ! La soupe boeuf braisé cher mais excellente. Les rouleaux impériaux végé sont une tuerie ! Je l'ai recommande fortement. Le service est nickel 👌🏾
Nourriture délicieuse à un prix plus que raisonnable! Je recommande +++ le saumon flambé. Délicieux & servi avec une belle présentation. Nous y sommes allés un jeudi soir & nous n'avons même pas eu à attendre. Hidden gem
OMG! So good. Excellent service, amazing food with flavors that you can only find when traveling to Asia. I strongly recommend it. It is not expensive, with generous portions. A great menu of rice, wheat noodles & dumpling. Small place so you should reserve, by phone.
