The restaurant was small & intimate & we ordered a Malta Creole, a ceviche, the chicken wings, some taco-like dish & a special Haitian version of Mac & cheese. Everything tasted delicious & we were pleasantly surprised.
Tasty food, fun visual identity, good vibes. I went in when the restaurant was empty. My food was ready in under five minutes, chicken was nicely seasoned, tender. The rice was perfectly cooked & the sauce was rich without being fatty or overly salty.
Food is amazing but bro 30$ for a scoop of rice should be a crime rice & chicken literally cost nothing I would order there everyday if they were more generous with the portions But unfortunately
the food was very tasty. inflation is a thing but there is no way you can make people pay 25 30 $ for a plate & you barily fill anything in it...yet alone rice which costs nothing to make...ive joined a picture of what a 28$ plate looks like... disappointed but the potential is there. fix your portions & it will be amazing. chicken plate was the same portions. also. mini macaroni, mini pikliz, mini plate at prices that make no sense for the size.
The food was absolutely delicious but the portions are far from what is expected from Haitian take out. I got the riz Djion-Djion as an extra for 10 dollars & the portion filled up the container. 15$ chicken for what seem to be half a chicken leg ( 7 tiny pieces). Overall excellent but overpriced for the portions. I probably won't be ordering from this place again.
I've always been curious about what people were eating whenever I passed by Atwater Market, & I finally got the chance to try it! I ordered the BBQ Chicken, which tasted quite similar to jerk chicken, & the hot sauce on top was delicious with a hint of mango. As for the patties, I tried both the codfish & beef-while the beef one was tasty, the fish one had a bit of a strong flavor. The chicken wings were average & could be skipped. The highlight of the meal was definitely the shrimp. It was perfectly coated, fried to a crispy finish, & paired with a fantastic sauce that made it absolutely irresistible. We even ended up ordering a second round of it! Overall, the portions are on the smaller side, more like tapas. Without drinks, it's about $30 per person.
The server & owner were very welcoming & inviting. I was there with 2 vegans: they ordered guava juice, the Accras, the Riz Djondjon (without meat sauce) & the Veggie Pikliz Bowl. I ordered the Riz Colé & gave them a portion before adding chicken sauce & aioli. I also had the Ti Bato & a glass of one of their specialty wines. Everything was wonderful, we were all full! Nice temperature inside, comfortable seating, plus the music was bumping but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other.
It's a pretty small place, so I'd recommend you come early since almost all the tables were reserved. Food was pretty good, not exceptional. Griyo (pork) was sooooo dry. But the grilled chicken, rice & accara were all good. A bit expensive for how small portions are. Drinks were nothing special unfortunately. & again, expensive. Glad we tried it, but nothing is tempting me back.
Such a full experience in every way. Amazing, tender wonderfully seasoned tasteful pork, & chicken! The rice...you gotta have the rice, the plantain chips & the fresh guacamole (with a light integrated sprinkling of lemon)...& be sure to save room for the pineapple upside down cake! A small & buzzing atmosphere. I will be back!!🎉😊
The food was A+ . It was made to order so everything was hot, fresh, & tasty 👅. The drinks 🍹 were good - & the shots got us right. Now, let me tell y’all something - those women in the back probably married/wife’s up because they put their foot in the lamb & rice. That rice was moist & chicken was seasoned perfect. Add the side of sauce , it babbbyyy my belly & heart left happy & fulfilled 😂😂😂.
Akim (restaurant owner) was there & he provided exceptional customer service to all patrons. I loved the restaurants ambiance. It gave what it was supposed to give. 💐 to Akim & his team. Instagram/tick tock users the restaurant has lots of backgrounds for photos 😜 . Go support this black owned business.
