The fried calamari is my personal favourite. Their fish & octopus are also great. I recommend making a reservation for peak hours on weekends & Friday.
The fish was very fresh & tasty. The batter on the fish & chips for both of us was surprisingly bitter. I mentioned it to the staff & they just shrugged their shoulders.
We were four, had octopus, fish & chips, salad & fries. The food was fresh & delicious & service was fast kind, & courteous. Highly recommend! They have a wide variety of seafood
Family restaurant & fish store. Amazing autentic Egyptian spices & preparations. Beem me up Scotty feeling.
Overall it's good, the shrimp was a little overcooked & bland. The calamari was tasty as were the fries. Fried & steamed fish was good as well, forgot the name of the fish. Service was great, nice servers. Oh octopus had a weird texture but tasted good.
VERY stingy with their sauce & lemons...I got fish & chips. They gave me a quarter of a lemon, not even, a small wedge. & thats all the time, not one occurance. Also, the sauce, you get a tiny small plastic container. Good food, but bad follow-up with execution.
this is a great place for fish . their grilled octopus salad is a must
amazing seafood restaurant, I can't wait to come back & try the other options! grilled shrimp, octopus, fish & chips- they have it all!
We went for the fish & chips which are absolutely amazing. Lightly battered & crispy. The fries are the best.
I ordered fish for 14 people for xmas supper. The food was great, fresh & tasted great. We had so much food we were unable to finish it all. We had a pickup for 6pm, when I arrived it was waiting for me. The staff helped me load it into my truck. Thanks again Mohamed we will coming back.
I have no words to describe how delicious is the fish, the special sauce & spices they have " THE BEST IN THE WEST " & of course we had the best service by MOHAMMED MOUSSA
For us it was a novel experience to have dinner in a fish market, but it seems to be popular with many people in the neighborhood. The process is that we could choose any kind of seafood that they had on ice & they would cook it for us & serve it with either french fries or rice & salad. Their selection was varied & fresh & the standard plate with salad & rice accompanied well. I had a bit of trouble getting used to the "interrogation style" lighting, & it took a couple of tries to understand how things worked. Also, they have no liquor licence & we thought a nice white wine would've gone well... All in all though we can see why it's popular.
I had an incredibly enjoyable dining experience at Restaurant Le Canal! The dishes were absolutely delightful: the fresh seafood was cooked to perfection, especially the grilled shrimp & octopus, which were perfectly seasoned with a lovely blend of herbs & seafood flavors in every bite. The fried small fish were crispy & delicious, & the lemon added a refreshing zest. The salad was fresh & well-seasoned, offering a crisp & pleasant taste. The restaurant was clean & tidy, & the service was warm & attentive. The overall atmosphere was cozy & relaxing, making it a great choice for family dinners or gatherings with friends. Highly recommended!
Follow this tip & save time - call & reserve your table for dine in! Arrived at around 6pm on a Friday & it was packed to the brim, immediately placed our name on the wait-list. Greeted with the melodious recitation of the Quran, I'm confident that the food will be served high quality as Muslims with business are only supposed to serve the best to their customers, rest assured. Around 20mins later got seats & the table was prepared promptly. Headed down to the seafood display area, great variety of fishes & seafood, tempting anyone with a huge appetite. You pick your seafood & they will cook this up to your choice. Ordered the salmon (grilled), scallops (grilled with butter & herbs), fries with this really lovely sour cream ish flavor, branzino (deep fried) to perfection, shrimp (with spicy sauce) & yellow rice. We smashed them within minutes, they were all so good especially the shrimp with spicy sauce & the deep fried branzino. There is an equivalent concept to this in NYC called Abuqir but we believe this restaurant Le Canal is cleaner, more organized, bigger dining area & to be honest the flavors were better. No need to mention HALAL here since in the Quran it is mentioned "Lawful to you is what you catch from the sea & use for food as provision for yourself & the travelers".
Great food, fresh fish, on display, you choose one & they prepare it the way you want. The rest of the menu is also really good. Friendly staff, clean restaurant & facilities. The food is simply amazing, they also have a selection of good desserts.
Superb seafood restaurant. You select your fish & they grill or fry to your liking. Very friendly staff & welcoming owner. I drove from Toronto to try it out & it was worth the 6+ hours drive Highly recommended
