About

Restaurant Le Canal delivers a focused Mediterranean culinary experience centered on the preparation of fresh catches and traditional marine ingredients. The menu emphasizes grilled whole fish, shellfish platters, and seasonal vegetables seasoned with olive oil and aromatic herbs. Patrons observe an open kitchen design where seafood undergoes searing over high heat to preserve natural moisture and texture. Each dish utilizes salt, lemon, and garlic as fundamental components to highlight the quality of the raw product. Interior spaces prioritize functional seating arrangements that facilitate direct observation of the cooking process. The environment maintains a steady temperature and bright lighting to ensure optimal visibility of all plated offerings. This establishment relies on consistent sourcing methods to maintain a steady inventory of varied aquatic species for every preparation.

⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐? The best seafood restaurant in Montreal, hands down!
My wife & I eat here all the time, the fish is incredibly fresh & perfectly cooked.
What I love most is that the clientele is from all over the world, not just Arabs, which shows how truly loved this place is.
Super respectful staff, excellent service, & great prices for the quality. A place that really honors you. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent seafood experience. I give it 10 out of 10 on every front including value for price.

The restaurant serves fresh fish & seafood, expertly cooked & abundantly flavorful. We ordered the Royal Dorado (grilled), Rose Dorado (fried), smelt, calamari, grilled octopus salad, fries, & green salad. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. The chefs do not skimp on herbs & spices, the dominant flavor on the baked fish was cumin: amazing! The fried fish was sprinkled with sesame seeds & herbs, the octopus salad was simply the king of the table (we remembered too late that octopus should not be on our personal menu given the high level of emotional intelligence of the animal).

You order at the fresh fish counter & the food arrives as ready. The staff are friendly, the place is very busy so make a reservation unless you dont mind waiting 30 to 60 minutes.

The one thing I would hope for are curtais cause when the sun hits in the summer the restaurant becomes a hot-house otherwise everything is perfect. We left satisfied, full but not bloated. Everyone in the party expressed a desire to return.

Tried their fish & chips & the fish tasted bitter like it's cooked in old oil.
