Beyond Taste; A Journey Through Texture, Sound, & Elegance
This was, by far, one of the most remarkable culinary experiences I have had in quite some time.
We were delightfully surprised by the harmony of flavors, each dish felt like a dialogue between creativity & precision. The thoughtful pairing of cocktails & wines revealed a deep understanding of balance & nuance.
The dessert, in particular, was extraordinary; its texture evoked the sensation of a piece of sky melting delicately on the tongue, an ephemeral pleasure best savored with closed eyes. The staff demonstrated remarkable knowledge & passion, effortlessly guiding us through each course with grace & expertise.
The ambiance was nothing short of fantastic a fusion of jazz undertones & Caribbean rhythms that transported us to another sphere entirely. Once again, Chef Paul Toussaint & Chef Victor Blanchet have outdone themselves.
We are already looking forward to the next event, eager to see how they will continue to redefine the art of dining.
The food here is very good. We tried the Griot, hummus, pintarde (guinea fowl) & spicy jerk chicken & all of them were extremely flavourful & unique. The spicy jerk chicken is actually spicy which I appreciated as well! I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area or as a place to go before a show at Place des Arts.
While the food was great I do have a couple of critiques: The cocktail menu while pretty extensive was very expensive & there was only one beer available (Corona), & the tables were not very good. Wobbly & the kind you'd find at a cheap breakfast restaurant or something of that nature.
None of these things really hindered the dining experience & like I said the food was amazing, but if there's anything to improve it'd be these.

Some of our food was good, some was not great.
Atmosphere is cramped & loud, there were flies flying around inside the restaurant. It's a nice spot & a nice place, just felt like they could improve here. The servers were nice, but they were very slow, they checked on us once to see if we liked the food, but then never came back to bring us more water or to see if we wanted dessert or anything.
We had the Tomato salad, Ceviche, Fried chicken, Jerk Chicken, Griot & Grilled fish as well as 5 cocktails.
The fried chicken was delicious, the Griot was some of the best in Montreal, but the jerk chicken was horribly dry, the chicken was TINY, it felt like I was eating quail.
The Jerk chicken is 25$ on the menu, but after getting home & looking at my receipt, they charged us 32$ per portion (we ordered two portions to share).
The grilled fish was supposed to be 40$, they charged us 45$.
We were also charged 2$ more per drink than what was priced on the menu.
The bill for 4 people ended up over 325$ (before tip) with 5 drinks, a bottle of soda water, 4 appetizers & 3 mains.
For the price, the experience we had was not worth it.
I was disappointed with the food at this restaurant. I ordered the chicken, but it turned out to be a small, bony bird that was clearly reheated - part of the meat was even cool. It felt overpriced for what I got. I also specifically asked for my food not to be spicy, but the rice that came with the dish was spicy enough to make me sweat - definitely not what I expected. I wanted to order a beer, but they were out, & the server offered me a cocktail'similar to beer.' Unfortunately, it was just rum with soda & lime, & I didn't enjoy it at all. That one's partly my fault for not asking what was in it, but overall the experience was underwhelming.

This is a little gem you must try. It might look like a tourist trap but it is not. The food is delicious, generous, colorful, flavorful & you need to try their cocktails!
In the heart of place-des-arts, right before (or after) a show, it is a great option.
Last time, we went for only three plates for two & we had plenty! Get the accras; the plate is to share & so generous with 10 variations. Delicious. The half jerk chicken is a classic for a reason (get it spicy!) & we enjoyed the griot.
Every time I try something different & never been disappointed.
Service rapide & courtoisie.
