We decided to try this spot for dim sum in Montreal, as it seemed like a promising option. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We were seated in a separate room where service was extremely slow, & the dim sum cart rarely came by. The food wasn't great either, it lacked flavor. For example, the pan-fried radish cake tasted like it had way too much flour, which threw off the texture & taste. Overall, we didn't feel well taken care of, so we paid the bill & left a 10% tip, which we felt was generous given the service. To our surprise, the server came over to count the money & told us the tip wasn't enough, which we found very rude. Given the level of service, we felt that 10% was more than fair.View more

I have dim sum here everytime I visit Montreal & I've had dinner here a few times as well. Some strangely negative reviews here but they seem to be from people who don't leave tip. I've been coming here for years, it is my go to place for dim sum in Montreal.View more

Food is fine. Service is decent. But they beg for tips. I literally paid & the guy circled around & asked for more money.View more

Overall not very happy experience. Average food. The lady who took us to the bill picked the tip percentage for us directly & quickly & didn't give us a chance to choose for ourselves. Not a good feeling. No menu, you just need to choose what you want when trolleys are passing by. Asked for salt but no one offers us.View more

Kim Fung or Kam Fung? It's a little hard to find for me. you can see the sign of the restaurant on the street but you need to go into the building next to it. all the way in & go upstairs to find it. the food is fine. the waiters are very good, they took care of us carefully & friendly ONLY IN THE BEGINNING. wait until the end when you check out. we give them a tip & they are angry tell us we need to tip about 15% or more. no matter if they ask for it POLITELY & GENTLY NOT SHOUT IN OUR FACE. my night was ruined. definitely won't come back, very disappointedView more

Food was good. Not the best ever but it was tasty, & there was a lot of choice. The concept was nice too.
But... The service was just awful. Besides the fact that it is over crowded & that the waiters are yelling at each others, which could have a charm on its own, the staff is just rude. Simply rude. They won't take the time to explain to you neither how it works, how it costs, or what the plates are. At the end, it proved to be rather expensive for not that much. We asked for water (we also had tea, of course), we received it at the end of the meal, after asking several times. Considering the service, we decided to give 10% instead of 15% of tip. The waitress proved to deserve 0%, she insulted us in front of everybody saying that we HAD to give her more, that we were cheap, calling on god & even talking about stuff we talked amongst ourselves during the dinner (why was she listening to us instead of working?!?!) & like talking really really loud & very aggressively.. She made us feel really bad & humiliated when she should be ashamed of the service she gave us. Btw I worked in restaurants as a waitress, I would have NEVER done what that waitress did & I do tip well normally because I know how important this is. Matter of fact, even when I get really, really bad service, I still give 10%. It was amongst my worst service experiences before the tip incident, & definitely became the worst service I ever received in a restaurant after. I will never go back there, there are plenty of better Chinese restaurants that will offer you a decent service as well.
