The empanada & the Brussel sprouts were our favourites! I remember the Guinea fowl being a bit dry. Service was superb however. Nothing really blew me away so would probably not come back.Voir plus

Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Verdun, Montreal, Beba is a small yet cozy restaurant that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance at Beba is warm & inviting, with a modern yet homey decor that makes you feel right at ease. The menu at Beba focuses on plates to share, encouraging a communal dining experience. Every dish we tried was a testament to culinary excellence. The flavors were exquisite, & the presentation was artful, making each plate a feast for both the eyes & the palate. What truly sets Beba apart is the service. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive, knowledgeable, & genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They went above & beyond to ensure my son's birthday was special, adding thoughtful touches that made the evening even more memorable. In conclusion, Beba is a gem in Montreal's culinary scene. Its cozy atmosphere, delectable shared plates, & exceptional service make it a must-visit.Voir plus

Not sure food is the star here given extensive wine & cocktail menu. While small & Cozy, feels more like a bar than restaurant. Food ingredients were top notch, but presentation was "flat". Service, while efficient, lacked warmth & a certain degree of class given the prices.Voir plus
The only thing better than the food was the service. Truly fantastic staff that were talkative & friendly. The dishes were super unique & delicious. Awesome experience!Voir plus

Beba ranks as the number 8 top restaurant in Canada for 2024. When entering you wonder how? It's just two young looking cooks behind the counter. While the food did not disappoint, there was much to be desired from the flow of service & the space itself. The space is actually has a ton of charm, & the outdoor patio with the fire is very cute - unless you get sat there during midge & mosquito season. Trying to have a conversation with the bugs just constantly hovering was tough, I'm glad we got moved inside. Once inside, we were sat at the bar where the bartender was pleasant, knowledgable, & always smiling. The service would be 5 stars, but the production & speed from the kitchen was atrocious. 4 dishes in 2.5 hours just left you always desiring something. Getting to the food, it was excellent, I would go as far as saying better than Vin Mon Lapin (currently the top in Canada). Starting with the mackerel toast - delicious. When it landed on the table, my guest & I both looked at each other thinking this was going to be a fish bomb of oily stinkyness - boy were we wrong. First bite, good, second bite, great, third & fourth bite left us saying "wow, I could order a few more of those, yum!". Moving to the strozapretti & rabbit ragu, absolutely killer dish, one of the better ragu dishes I've ever had. Again, we could have eaten many more. The salad was a salad, a nice break with acidity & freshness, & the guinea fowl had tons of flavour & perfectly cooked & crispy skin. Getting to the desserts, the classic flan has been a staple on their menu since they've opened & it's a very good version of this classic dish, but it did not hold a candle to the wonderful pistachio semi-freddo. The texture & taste of that dish was outstanding. If there weren't so many restaurants to visit in Canada, I'd be back here a few more times - it's excellent. If they can just speed up the service from the little kitchen, that would be great. Overall though, I can see why they are a Top 10 in 2024.Voir plus
TLDR: great service, good idea but food was mostly bland, undercooked, & absurdly portioned. For context I live in NYC & am used to expensive small plate restaurants. I am genuinely confused at how this place can defend some of the dishes. Overall, the idea behind the menu is nice, but the food was very one-note, lacked seasoning, but was also very very rich & buttery. 1. The asparagus dish was $26 for exactly two stalks of asparagus & hollandaise sauce. 2. The knish was bland & the bite lacked flavour. 3. The beef ham was bland & extremely underwhelming. 4. The guinea fowl was completely undercooked, with visibly raw parts. I took it to go & cooked it in a pan the next day. The zucchini involtini & pistachio dessert were great. Also, the service was lovely. I love how they have the servers explain each dish. Maybe I came on an off night, but I can't recommend this place at all unfortunately.Voir plus
This was our first time, & definitely not our last. There is nothing to improve here. Our waiter/bartender Antoine was absolutely impeccable & all of the food was delicious. We can't wait to come back, we could not have asked for a better dining experience.Voir plus
Easily.one of the best meals I've ever had. Every dish was outstanding & the service was impeccable.Voir plus
5 star all around! Outstanding service, out of this world wine list & beautiful food. The restaurant offers cozy vibe & unique dishes created with top quality seasonal ingredients. One of the best restaurant Montreal has to offer!Voir plus
Food was delicious & of high quality. Stands on its own alongside other greats in Montreal (like Vin Mon lapin for example, which we had just visited the night before Beba). We had tartare, mushrooms, ragu, & asparagus. Cocktails to start & a beautiful bottle of wine. Our server was sensational. A father who apparently lives down the street, he was kind, very engaging, providing all the rich detail tailored to the guests level of interest. The location & clean/crisp but warm/cozy interior makes it feel like a neighbourhood gem rather than a well trodden (or tired) institution. We had exactly the kind of fantastic dining experience that keeps us coming back to Montreal. Well done Beba!
